When you were a child/teen what baby name were you going to 'definitely' use for future DC's?

Wordsaremything Your post sounds quite snobby. I'm sure that lots of people on this thread managed good grades even if they had names they liked.

I was 1 when I was given my first ever doll. Her name was Christina. She became my favorite doll of my childhood and I remember thinking that it was really cool to be called Christina because you could have three names, Christina, Chris or Tina.

I still have the doll (she's in my dm's attic, the only toy of my childhood that was kept) but I don't love the name as much now.

I have not used either of these names.

I had Kai from Snow Queen by Hans Christian and used it! I think i was 10 when I made that decision haha. Angelica for a girl and don't think i will use it if i get lucky enough to get a girl :P

When I was around 10 so '95 I was going to name any daughter Amanda. When I was about 15 my daughter would be named Cadence. I took gcse music and thought that it would be a unique and intelligent name (its the rhythm of music). I seem to remember conversations with a friend where my son would be Devon.

None- I was more focussed on getting good grades so I could pursue my chosen career!

2001 - Age 10 - Amelia Rose for a girl, how would I ever now how popular those names would get And Harris for a boy.

Didn't use either but still think Harris is nice :) My kids have pretty unusual names now

80's - Jennifer and Joanna (my best friends names)
90's - Amber or Saffron (obvs it never occurred to me I would have a boy!)
00's - Emelia and Zachary. (I thought I was the only person in the world to have thought of these incredible original names haha - me and the rest of the nation!).
Didn't use any.

When I was 15 I wanted 3 girls called Roxy, Diamond, and Destiny ..I haven't used any XD

Alice for a girl. Didn't use it.

When I was younger I liked Rachel and Rebecca I still do but they aren't number one on the list any more And for boys I liked cody and james and I still love those names

Obviously, I too was under the impression I would have boy/girl twins.
I decided they would be Nathaniel and Cornelia (nn. Nate and Connie) although earlier they were to be Taryn (boy) and Thalia (Tah-lee-ah)

He was the boys friend of Jerrica in some awful cartoon. For years I thought this was a great name and would definitely have used it if I'd been a teenage mum. My non existent Rio would be in his twenties now.

As a child (am old) I wanted Dirk (Bogarde) and Tyrone (Power) as I loved them in the old black and white films! As a teen-ager I wanted Kim and Leslie ,(boy). All very very different to the names I chose!!!

Noah and Luca for boys. Both to do with ER. Christopher and Demitri () as middle names.Still like all of those bar Demitri, but had two DD's.
Also Barnaby after John nettles character in midsomer murders! Wtf?!

As a teen in the nineties I wanted Leigh Ashley for a girl and James Kurt for a boy. No idea where any of those came from apart from the Kurt which was Cobain obvs.

In fact James has always been a favourite of mine and I could have imagined calling a DS that in a different life, but DH is James and so are half his friends (really!) and also another friend's DS.

Another name I thought I'd use from when I was little was Heaven-Leigh. I loved the Virginia Andrews book Heaven.

I loved party of five and had a massive crush on Charlie ( Matthew Fox)....and Neve Campbell was just the coolest.

I also had a massive crush on Byron in the winds of war! Lol

Charlie is now my cat! Obviously in my psyche somewhere. Lol

Rosie and Noah.

Rosie doesn't work with our surname (never forgiving DH for this) and DH hates Noah.

At 18, I wanted Lily and Charlie. Decided against these as far too popular for our tastes.

DD's name is nothing like this!

My DP deliberately chose traditional/old fashioned names for me and my siblings. DM had a friend with a large extended family who all gave their DC what I considered to be trendy names such as Jade/Amber etc and hyphenated names. The teens in this family all seemed tremendously sophisticated and fashionable and impressed me so much that I was determined to have a daughter caller Billy-Jo, Sarah-May or Jade-Amber. I've not used any of these.

From about 14 to 30s I decided that I did not want DC so didn't give this much thought but remember (probably about 14) several friends discussing this with their boyfriends and deciding that they would call their eldest son Junior. Most also wanted sons called Corey and Bradley. Not aware of any that did actually have Junior, Corey and Bradley.

I did call DD a name that I (aged about 16/17) often wished I had been called.
