Hi,

We decided not to tell anyone names we were considering but now are stuck between two for if its a boy and 4 if it's a girl. Would just like some other people's opinions and me and DH cannot reach a decision (EDD 3/11).
Girl: Elizabeth (Lizzie), Jennifer, Zoe or Isla
Boy: Thomas (bit worried it's v common but is DH's fave) or Adam
Would love to hear what people think as I've definately been overthinking it!!

Jennifer (Jenny) and Adam

My sister is Jenny and it's such a lovely name. My DC3 has it as her middle name.

Ephiny · 04/11/2011 10:41

I like Isla for a girl and Thomas for a boy. These are probably the most popular choices at the moment though!

Elizabeth is very nice as well, and a real timeless classic name, you can't go wrong with that.

Wormshuffler · 04/11/2011 08:54

Adam and Jennifer (I have one, She is awesome)

EightiesChick · 04/11/2011 08:51

Love Elizabeth (classic and also versatile), Jennifer and Zoe.

Both boys' names are nice but Adam is a little less used atm.

hester · 04/11/2011 08:47

Jenny and Adam or Tom.

3isamagicnumber · 04/11/2011 08:44

Isla and Adam!

Montsti · 04/11/2011 08:26

Elizabeth and Thomas both lovely. Personally wouldn't worry about popularity of Thomas - it's a nice, solid, classic name for a boy and won't age.

proudfoot · 03/11/2011 23:01

Isla and Adam - gorgeous!

The others are all fine (not so keen on Jennifer though as quite dated, 70s and 80s name IMO) but those 2 are lush

cece · 03/11/2011 22:25

Elizabeth - like but prefer not to shorten it to nn. Like it as it is.
Jennifer - nice
Zoe - it is a nice name but I must say I have never been that keen on it for some unexplained reason
Isla - always liked it but now it is too trendy to be used imo.

Thomas - love Wink but prefer just Tom
Adam - also like

Pastabee · 03/11/2011 22:21

I like Thomas and Elizabeth.

zozzle · 03/11/2011 22:13

Agree - all fine and acceptable. Like Elizabeth and Jennifer. Isla nice but a bit "now".

But am going to buck the trend and say Zoe! Still classic (has been used for thousands of years - empresses etc) but got a bit more zest than the other names on your list (a bit less girly I think).

Like Tom. Adam ok but not mad on it.

growing3rdbump · 14/10/2011 08:05

Jennifer and adam are my favourites. My sister is jennifer / jenny / jen and I think they're all very pretty. Dc3 has the mn Jennifer.

lurkinginthebackground · 13/10/2011 21:30

Jennifer and Thomas.

ThingsThatGoFlumpInTheNight · 12/10/2011 22:12

Jennifer and Adam

ChippingIn · 12/10/2011 22:11

Elizabeth - with anyone of the NN's.

Thomas - Tom.

Not keen on the others.

vividgingerchilli · 12/10/2011 22:08

Isla Elizabeth has a lovely ring to it.

Jezabelle · 12/10/2011 22:06

Isla and Adam

mrsm123 · 12/10/2011 21:55

I love that Elizabeth can become Lizzie and Thomas can become Tom or Tommy.
My daughter is called Charlotte and i sometimes call her Lottie. I love it.
Good luck! You'll know when you see your baby.
It always took us at least 24hours to name our babies.

Rhubarbgarden · 12/10/2011 21:50

Adam. Great name.

Your girls names aren't my cup of tea, sorry.

mybootsaremuddy · 12/10/2011 21:00

Elizabeth or Jennifer and Adam

DigOfTheStump · 12/10/2011 20:31

First off, all of them are perfectly acceptable, so my comments below are purely my personal preference.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) - by far prefer Beth as a name,
Jennifer - love it, generational classic, got one lol.
Zoe - really not that keen
Isla - tis okay, prefer Iona.
Adam - very nice
Thomas - too popular, but Tom is nice

JiltedJohnsJulie · 12/10/2011 14:06

Love Elizabeth and Thomas. Our DS has a popular name, was in the top 20 when we had him and think its in the top 10 now. I really wouldn't let it bother you, there is only one other in DS's entire school and you know that everyone will be able to spell his name, well unless you go for the Welsh spelling.......Grin.

MelinaM · 12/10/2011 12:45

Elizabeth is beautifulSmile I do like Jennifer, I just prefer Elizabeth! Zoe is okay, I used to love Isla but then it became UBER popular and a tad 'trendy', definitely avoid that one!

Thomas and Adam are both perfect, but I do prefer Adam by a whisker!

BedHog · 12/10/2011 11:58

Jennifer is a great name - I've never met a Jenny who hasn't been lovely.

Adam definitely. Thomas is a hideous, beige name and I can't understand why it is so popular.

ellesabe · 12/10/2011 11:53

Zoe and Adam
