Anyone actually managed to pick an unusual name?

I'd really love my DC to have an unusual name and personally wouldn't like it if there ended up being 4 others in his/her class at school etc. I gathered together a list of names I like bit looking on here loads of other people like them too so I've clearly, subconsciously, picked up a penchant for fashionable names. So..I was wondering, did you pick an unusual name for your DC which is actually still unusual now they are at school? How did you do it and have you got any tips for avoiding the latest trends?

I have a boy called Artemus Somerset!! No others not one!!

My oldest child is unusual and at 9 we've met two others, they are 1&2. DS2 we know two more, both younger and my daughter Mabel is one of the only ones I know, but I fear her name may be getting popular.

Astrid is lovely. DH is northern Irish so may go for an Irish name, we live in England so could hope it worked out the same as for you though I think some of the Irish names are getting popular too, have certainly seen a few on here!
team Edward what is your DS's name or would you rather not say?

I am not British so my DC's have names from my home country (up north in Scandiland) but which work in English (DD is Astrid, for example)
