So we've now found out that we are expecting Boy/girl twins.

Your feedback on the current front-runner first name and middle name would be appreciated:

Girl:
Milla Grace

Boy:
George Aubin
Max Aubin

Not convinced yet about the boys middle name, so feel free to offer suggestions too!

Thx

I think Milla is cute. Also love Aubin - much nicer than Max and George imo.

MeanMrsMustard · 04/10/2011 16:50

Milla is definitely not a trying to be unique name! Miller has a completely different feel to it. Avoid!
I LOVE Aubin.
Congratulations.

tammytoby · 04/10/2011 12:55

Milla is lovely - I'd pronounce it Mill-a.

I know a Mila - pronounced Mee-la.

Miller is awful, masculine and pronounced Mill-ERR.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 03/10/2011 15:30

Milla Rose

LHM1 · 03/10/2011 11:43

Ha ha! Wish my husband said the same!

Totally disagree secondcoming. We want Pronunciation as Mill-a, and so I fail to see how spelling it as you say it is trying to be unique?! To spell it as Miller would result in pronunciation of Mill-err.

We're sticking with Milla, but thanks for input anyway.

I'd pronounce Mila as Meela. If you want Milla, I'd spell it Milla.

nooka · 03/10/2011 06:53

My niece is Mila, pronounced Mil-a. I wouldn't have thought many English people would use Mee-la which I assume is more Eastern European. It certinly hasn't been an issue for my niece.

LHM1 · 03/10/2011 06:39

Thanks all for your input. Defo not going with Camilla on birth certificate because as hard as I try I always picture Charles/Camilla!

Milla can be one 'l' or two.
When it's Mila it's pronounced mee-la, whereas we want Milla as we prefer pronunciation of Mill-a.

Any more girls middle name (to go with Milla) thoughts welcome!

Congratulations, lovely names.

winkle2 · 30/09/2011 22:34

Milla is nice and unusual without bring out there. Prefer max to George.

LittlePebble · 30/09/2011 16:51

Don't name her Camilla it means witness at a sacrifice (eew!)
Milla however is lovely Smile

hatebeak · 30/09/2011 16:22

Milla Beatrice
Milla Beatrix
Milla Iris
Milla Jane
Milla Rosalind

LHM1 · 30/09/2011 10:19

Thank you everyone!
So, think we have a winner in Milla and George. We'll go with Aubin for the boys middle name, but think you are right that grace has become too popular. We were starting to think the same - and now you've convinced us.

What middle name do you think works with Milla?

Thanks again

Definitely Milla and George. Love Aubin. Might even prefer it as first name ? Grace is a lovely name but there are so many Graces at my daughter's school I'd probably go for something different as a middle name.

Bumpsadaisie · 29/09/2011 17:00

Those are lovely names.

But what about Thomas/Thomasina as extra middle names? Because Thomas means "Twin".

George Thomas Aubin and
Milla Grace Thomasina !!

Love it!

Crumbletopping · 29/09/2011 16:16

Love the name George.

birdofthenorth · 29/09/2011 14:15

Love Milla and George. And Aubin as George's mn.

Grace is fine as an mn but sooooooooooooooooooo many babies i know born in the last ten years have Grace (or Rose, or May) as a middle name that it feels a bit of a default option now, even though it is lovely

hatebeak · 29/09/2011 14:04

I know people will say "I don't remember him so who will in 20 years time etc" but older people / fans of comedy/pop culture etc are likely to remember comedian Max Miller, "The Cheeky Chappie", a massive variety star of the 30s, 40s and 50s. No real reason not to use Max and Milla together, but it might raise the odd chuckle. (That's if Milla is pronounced like Miller, anyway).
Aubin is great!

pilates · 29/09/2011 13:40

George is my favourite, sorry not keen on Milla.

HappyAsASandboy · 29/09/2011 12:06

Congratulations BTW Grin Boy/girl twins are wonderful Grin

HappyAsASandboy · 29/09/2011 12:05

I like Milla, though I wouldn't use it on the birth certificate. I'd name her Camilla (beautiful name) and then call her Milla day to day.

Definitely prefer Max over George if your going to keep Aubin. The 'or' sound in George and the 'Au' sound in Aubin are too similar, so it all mushes together.
