Suzanne/Susanne is my favourite possibly because I know an incredibly immature and self centred Susannah- though impassionately, its a very beautiful name.

brighthair · 21/09/2011 21:29

Mine is Susann - pronounced like Susannah

firesoup · 21/09/2011 21:06

not Susan, its my name and i would say its an awful name for a child you forever sound like someones mum

spaghettina · 21/09/2011 11:01

Susannah

takemebacktosmallville · 20/09/2011 18:57

Susannah definatly. bu then Susan is okay as well.

birdofthenorth · 20/09/2011 11:20

Suzannah or Susannah. Gorgeous! Not keen on Susan (middle aged in my head) or Suzanne (80s), sorry.

whenstrangethingshappen · 19/09/2011 20:44

Susannah then Susanna.
Don't like Susan and really don't like Susanne (the whole Anne thing)

purpleturtle · 19/09/2011 17:37

I have a Susannah - and as KateF said, it is frequently misspelled - even by my SIL!

Susan is my mum's name, and it does seem to be very popular among women around her age. I'm not sure whether it's quite enough of an 'old lady' name to have made a come back yet. Although come to think of it, I do know a couple of Susans in their 30s.

Anyway, if it helps in any way at all (probably not Grin) the order you listed the names in the OP would be my order of preference.

HTH!

Meteorite · 19/09/2011 17:18

I like Susan best. Nice, simple, understated.

mathanxiety · 19/09/2011 15:36

Susanna or Susannah are lovely. I like Suzette too, and Shoshana.

BuntyPenfold · 19/09/2011 13:25

Susan every time.

Suzanne is very 70s.

SootySweepandSue · 19/09/2011 13:24

Lots of possible nn with it. Good choice all are goodSmile

KateF · 19/09/2011 13:23

I have a Susannah (Suzy). Despite the fact that no-one can spell it and she can't buy anything with her name on (not necessarily a bad thing) it's a great name Smile. Also, we've only ever met one other and that wasn't in our home town.

BTW Most people misspell it as Suzanna so if that matters to you maybe go for that spelling

GloriaVanderbilt · 18/09/2011 17:07

I know one, it's a beautiful name sadly in stark contrast to an unfortunate personality. So make sure your child is really great and it'll be fine Smile

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 18/09/2011 17:07

I haven't seen the name Susan for an age and a half.
DD had a friend called Suzannah, she was a nice little thing. Parents called her Sooze or Suzi.

ibbydibby · 18/09/2011 17:02

I am a Susan, and love all of these! Have you thought of Susana? (think this is Spanish version of Susannah)

funnypeculiar · 18/09/2011 16:19

Suzannah/Suzanne/Suzanna for me

dearheart · 18/09/2011 16:17

Susannah - I wanted this for dd. Gorgeous name.

tummytickler · 18/09/2011 16:03

I love Susan. The others are a bit too fussy. Susan is on our list.

EdithWeston · 18/09/2011 15:15

Susannah or Susan (or Suzanne).

MrsHuxtable · 18/09/2011 15:08

Ihavewelliesbutitssunny · 18/09/2011 14:01

either Susannah or Suzannah, not so keen on the others. Like Suzy/ie and Susie/y as nns too.
