I know a Felicity who is Kitty, Felicity is a great name.

LOL at Lola being a dogs name putting you off....but how about Kitty? Grin

Cereal · 11/09/2011 14:17

I don't really like Lola or Kitty, sorry.

Kyrie · 11/09/2011 14:12

I think Lola will date so badly, it is a very 'now' name. Dolores is the long version which I love which would give here more options / won't date.

Kitty is less faddish imo than Lola though i'd still put a longer name on the bc if it was me.

MelinaM · 11/09/2011 14:08

Lola seems to be the new Ellie, I know of three: 2 x Lola Rose, and a Lola Grace ...I also know an Alexis Lola - Lexi-Lola, but that\s another storyGrin

Do you like Lila /Lyla?

CurwySwide · 11/09/2011 10:32

I love both Lola and Kitty - I knew a Lola and she was a very bright, funny little girl so I have always had a soft spot for this name.

Kitty is also gorgeous - I would probably go for calling her Katherine with the nickname Kitty, so she would have the choice of reverting back from Kitty at a later stage should she want to.

meditrina · 11/09/2011 09:41

Kitty is usually short for Katharine (or related name) or perhaps Christine (as on boys Kit's from Christopher).

meditrina · 11/09/2011 09:40

Lovely - and I think children will think "Charlie and" rather than showgirl, or the Kinks!

DaydreamDolly · 11/09/2011 09:27

What could Kitty be short for? I know of an adult Kitty and I always thought it was a nice name.

Charlie and
Was a showgirl.

Kitty, so long as it's short for something. There will be times in any woman's life when she doesn't want to have a cutesy babyish name.

MummysLittleSunbeams · 11/09/2011 08:50

I have a Kitty Violet! Smile

DaydreamDolly · 11/09/2011 08:01

Ah. Yes that's rather put me off too. Kitty?

We considered it for our dd2 (8mo) but I know 4 lola's under 1 year old.

2 have the same middle name.

I also know 2 dogs called Lola and that was enough to put me off tbh.

MummysLittleSunbeams · 11/09/2011 07:43

My dh wanted to name our Sadie, Lola but I wouldn't have it. The meaning is 'sorrows'. I know a cute & spunky little Lola but I'm not mad about the name.
