Eden?

What do you think? DH won't discuss names yet so want to get some opinions before the big discussion (after 20 week scan)

The MIddle name would be Caitlin after my mum Kathleen (prefer the Irish spelling£

So Eden Caitlin x (one syllable surname)

Thoughts?

Love it - noticed that Edeen is an old Scots name which means comes from Edinburgh, appropriate for us but maybe not for you!

Sandalwood · 11/09/2011 14:08

I'd like Eden if it weren't becoming so popular.
There's a class in DD's school with 2 Edens - I bet the parents never expected that.

Update:

Husband says no and actually laughed at it. Devastated.... I'm going to bug him for next 22 weeks Angry

Mrs Ozz 'Fresh and feminine without being frilly'....what a lovely phrase! I quite agree, I like it. Eden Horn.....sounds great. Don't worry about there being too many N sounds, most people will never even know her middle name is Caitlin (love that name btw but a friend got in there first!). And I love the nn Edie too.
In short, tis a winner! Grin

BloodStainedHeart · 11/09/2011 09:16

Love it. Really pretty name.

sleepevader · 10/09/2011 07:59

Hate Eden. Loads round here. It's a gender neutral name. Would prefer Caitlin Eden

HoneyPablo · 10/09/2011 07:57

DD 14 has a male friend called Eden. it suits him.

DizzyCow63 · 10/09/2011 07:57

Love Eden. I only know one with a little sister Lexi, which I think go lovely together.

MissHonkover · 10/09/2011 07:53

Still don't get it, am I supposed to know who Eden Horn is?

growing3rdbump · 10/09/2011 03:28

I know two little girls aged 7 and 3 called Eden and think it's a lovely name. The younger Eden has a sister called Eliza and that goes nicely together.

PamBeesly · 09/09/2011 19:38

Kayano I love Eden, its so strong and feminine. Work on DH :)

iskra · 09/09/2011 19:25

Haha! Terrible at word games I'm afraid.

I like Eden Grin

MrsOzz · 09/09/2011 19:08

Well I didn't want to spell it out, but they were getting so confused about 'cream mist' I thought I should step in!

Kayano · 09/09/2011 18:38

Mr ozz I'm going to have to name change now. Well and truly outed!

MrsOzz · 09/09/2011 18:24

Oh and I love the name Eden. It's fresh and feminine without being frilly.

MrsOzz · 09/09/2011 18:23

Well it begins with 'H' so it's deffo not mist!

I thought Horn. Cream horn, French horn, fog horn...

iskra · 09/09/2011 18:21

Is there mist cream?

GeetTallBird · 09/09/2011 18:18

Eden is lovely!
Is the surname "mist"??

iskra · 09/09/2011 18:15

Think I'm being dim!

Kayano · 09/09/2011 17:27

Desperately trying to work out one syllable surname, think fog, French, cream. It's like a cryptic crossword!

I love the name Eden, always have since seeing it in a novel (A Dark Adapted Eye by Barbara Vine - recommended!)

Anyway, unfortunately DH doesn't like it, it has become quite popular over the last wee while and some people might turn their noses up a little at it. I love it. Like Caitlin as well although Kathleen is actually very nice too.

GiantUnderCrackers · 09/09/2011 15:35

I think Eden is a lovely name.

BTW A Jewish friend of mine just named her girl Eden - in Hebrew it is apparently pronounced 'Ed-en' rather than 'Ee-den'.

I like either pronounciation.

Cereal · 09/09/2011 15:30

It's a place name.

I do like Edith/Edie though.
