This is probably a pointless thread as is purely hypothetical, however I had a pregnancy scare in January and if I had been pregnant, it would have been due about now.

Still feel a bit wistful about it now.

ANYWAY I thought I would risk the MN baby name wrath and see what you would think of my choices

Girl
Oenone
Iris
Artemis
Ariadne
Hera

Boy
Inigo
Albert
Idris

What do you think?

Oh I haven't seen Princess Bride for ages, my DP has never seen it and it is on my list to buy and make him watch it.

I know what you mean now.

PivotPivotPIVOT · 07/09/2011 21:20

Grin Reality. Yes you have to have a girl - I remember your baby names threads at the start of the pregnancy, when you were full of love for Edith, Martha and the like.

Oenone is ee-no-nee (nickname Noni probably). Yes I know pronunciation is a bugger but it's so PRETTY.

I like greek names for a girl as my dd has a greek name and I like to keep a theme (why? I don't know)

I LOVE Inigo because my surname is Jones and I think that is a cool name.

I love the name Oenone! Actually all the names on your girl's list, except Iris.

Inigo is great, the other boy's names are OK.

acsec · 07/09/2011 21:16

Reality that's what I thought of, also love the name!

I like Albert a lot (doesn't work with our surname!) also Iris is nice.

Oenone runs into the issue of having always to ask how it's pronounced (how is it pronounced?) which is not a good thing in general.

Artemis is rather fine, hunter goddess, but perhaps rather out there as a name. Hera ditto.

Inigo sounds like Indigo which has become relatively popular as a girls' name (yes, I know about Inigo Jones, but still).
