I am slowly getting bored of our choices for DD and need some inspiration, good ones to put on the list, bad ones to reassure me I like our current choices!

Surname is Loy, we have a son called Ethan

Choices currently are:
Kate
Esther
Phoebe (which I'm going off)

Names that used to be on the list (to give you an idea what we like):
Scarlet
Xanthe
River
Imogen
Isabel
Emilia

I like Phoebe, Esther, Xanthe, Isabel and Emilia.

How do you know you wouldn't get bored of any new names that go on your list? Mo harm in considering other names but it may be that your real favourites are the ones you've considered already.

thanks for responses! cereal, I don't to be honest, but am bored of just looking at long lists of names - all the names on our list (both now and previously) were fresh, not carried over from DS, and I thought then that I'd discovered all the names we liked.

Quite love that my own name and nickname have been mentioned!

Love Ophelia but I work in the theatre so it'd prob be a bit much (plus I'm totally paranoid about naming her after that Ophelia)

"Ophelia tits etc" - is the problem with Ophelia.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 08/09/2011 20:20

Oooooh I like Nyah and Esme

Eirwen keeps coming on and off the list too

um, doesn't Lalita Loy sound a bit high class hooker or burlesque dancer?! I love Lyra and Lola but again think they sound awful with my surname

How about something completely original, like a (suitable) placename connected with your family? I am thinking Portland Mason (filmstar) and Brooklyn Beckham (place of conception, apparently). I also like Stockard Channing (another filmstar).

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 08/09/2011 21:21

I love Stockard Channing but can't stand her name.

DD was conceived in Beggledert in Wales, will be born in Streatham and we're moving to Santa Monica when she'll be a few months old....Monica? Ew.

Good idea though, will have a ponder

BirdOfPassage · 08/09/2011 21:25

Grin Beggledert backwards isn't much better, either - Tredelggeb - tho' surprisingly pronounceable.

BirdOfPassage · 08/09/2011 22:13

Are the relevant street names any more promising?

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 09/09/2011 07:52

This is fun, street names with relevance to DH and I together:
Mitcham
Babington
Fonthill
Arley
Cotham
Gloucester

we did live and work in Malawi for a while so place names from there would be:
Mwalija
Tafika
Majete
Chikwawa
Blantyre
Lilongwe

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 09/09/2011 07:53

doctorx I do like Athena

BirdOfPassage · 09/09/2011 21:54

GirlWithTheMouseyHair, names I like from that set would be Mitcham, Arley, Tafika.

mathanxiety · 10/09/2011 00:31

Arley is lovely. How about Avery or Arden?
