Hunter.

DH loves it. I actually do like it too, but living in ruralish England think everyone will think we are bloody bonkers.

I like it

grumplestilskin · 13/09/2011 23:06

I'ld assume it was a surname, like how in some private schools they all go by surnames IYKWIM

ReadRideABikeSwim · 13/09/2011 23:01

gorgeous - loved it for years
reminds me of Hunter (french accent) in Paris Texas

IthinkIamUndecided · 13/09/2011 22:57

Hate it. And I'd find it difficult to use his name without feeling like a prat.

LaTristesse · 13/09/2011 11:25

Wellies, wood-burning stoves... all very apt for a rural baby.

I don't love it, but I don't hate it either...

Maybe give him a regular middle name so he has something to fall back on if he hates it when he's older?

lurkinginthebackground · 13/09/2011 00:07

I thought of Gladiators too. Other than that I think it would suit an outdoorsey type, long blonde hair, muscular, walks around carrying a spear in his tanned toned arms.......you know the type.x

RoyalWelsh · 12/09/2011 21:07

I normally like very traditional British names, but secretly I like hunter. I say go for it Grin

Hullygully · 12/09/2011 20:57

Squite nice

tammytoby · 12/09/2011 20:56

I wouldn't think anything. I'd be glad to meet him, I suppose.

Why are people so concerned with 'judging' names..., let's focus on judging people!

GiantUnderCrackers · 12/09/2011 20:54

I like the name but would assume the family had American connections

PebblesAndWine · 12/09/2011 20:37

I quite like it actually.....which is odd as its not my normal taste. There is something quite cool about it.

EricNorthmansMistress · 12/09/2011 20:34

Sorry Weas, it's a bit macho for my taste! What if he grows up to be all slim and angular with floppy hair and a taste for good literature?

GetExcitedAndMakeThings · 11/09/2011 11:26

I like it

FootballFriend · 10/09/2011 13:14

Who is Nicola McLean? I suppose I could google her but maybe not worth bothering.

blimeythesunsout · 10/09/2011 11:28

Bit American but not bas.

Bandwithering · 10/09/2011 10:43

mathanxiety, is Chad short for Charles in the US? Haven't heard it here, not once.

MummyPenguin · 08/09/2011 15:20

Was reading an interview with Nicola McLean the other day. Her second DS is called Striker. WTF? Handy, I suppose, if he grows up to become a top footballer.

HoHoLaughingMonster · 07/09/2011 23:59

Hunter the Munter

Red2011 · 07/09/2011 23:31

It's so difficult giving advice on names - we had a great dilemma over DD's; took us 4 days to decide what to call her. I had a few 'hippyish' names I liked but none of them suited her. Should we have another child then there are some of those more unusual names that I would consider BUT I would give them as a middle name with a more 'standard' first name. That way there is choice.

A friend of mine has a son called Billy. All well and good now but when he's 18 or so...?? William as a given name and Billy as a nickname would've been better, but that is just my opinion.

BTW, if your surname is Hunt don't call your son Mike! Grin

smother · 07/09/2011 23:16

I would think...... what a ridiculous name for a little boy, has he got a sister called gatherer, why are they channelling this poor kid in such an 'alpha' male name, makes me think of spears and blood and animal guts .... and isn't it a surname anyway.... and isn't it just asking for a fight when he's older..... but isn't he a cute little boy and I guess it kinds of suits him and his parents are awful nice and we could always use the nickname hunny... or honey....

you did ask!

GrandMasterT · 07/09/2011 22:41

LaWeas

You need to watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vagas.

GrandMasterT · 07/09/2011 22:38

Is it the name of a character in a film? I did wonder...

bonkers20 · 07/09/2011 22:23

The first thoughts that popped into my mind were that it's a Gladiator name (from that telly programme) or a name for a plastic super hero toy.

Sorry.
