I used to like Imogen but it's a very popular name where i am now (south east) and there are quite a few of them at DD's school, so I'm glad I didn't use it myself. And I know it's picky but the Imogen who bonked a footballer has ruined the name for me.

I do like Lilia though - it's unusual but not too much so IMO.

Thanks- I knew the brand existed alright but just didn't know if it would be the first thing that came to people's minds on hearing the name, given the length of time since it was in production. Still very much toting between Lilia and Imogen... Can't work out which is nicer!!

Imogen Rose. Don't like Lilia at all.

Sorry pinklady but lookee here from the Museum of Menstruation - wow what a great museum! Grin

The mother was a very unpopular parent, as she often pitied other parents of children with less 'personality' than hers
eg 'How do people cope, do you think, when their child xxxxx has so little personality? I couldn't bear it myself if my child had so little personality....'
And similar charmless remarks.
So there was a huge outburst of hilarious glee, that she had finally and completely made such a fool of herself (and unfortunate DD).
Sorry, but you did ask.

Is this tampon thing a real issue with Lilia do people think?! Had never heard of it myself.

Imogen is a bit harsh to my ears, sorry.
As for Lilia, I worked in a nursery where a new baby was introduced as Lilia. As soon as the parents had left the building there was an outburst of hilarious disbelief at the tampon name- admittedly the staff were 100 % female.

Imogen is lovely - and goes with Rose very nicely. Don't really like Lilia sorry.

musttidyupmusttidyup · 05/09/2011 07:03

Imogen Rose

nothingnatural · 05/09/2011 06:26

To me Lilia sounds like a brand of tampons. Sorry.

EdithWeston · 05/09/2011 06:01

I think Lilia looks unfinished - Lily or Lilian are far nicer.

I think Imogen us a lovely name. I'd prefer Imogen Lily (ok, not one of the options) and also like Imogen Rose.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 05/09/2011 06:01

Not Rose! Every girl under 8 has Rose as a middle name.

That said, I think Lilia Imogen is a bit of a mouthful, so if you use either as a first (and I love both) you need a shorter second. Imogen Lily or Lilia Ivy or something.

mathanxiety · 05/09/2011 05:57

Lilia. I can't understand the popularity of Imogen at all.

Lilia Rose is nice. Lilia Saoirse is ok but needs a third short name to give it more of a ring --
Lilia Saoirse Elin
Lilia Saoirse Elise

Or
Lilia Rosalie
Lilia Rosalind
Lilia Rosita
Lilia Róisín
Lilia Rosemarie
Lilia Romilly
Lilia Romy.

I prefer Lilia to Imogen
But Lilia Imogen I like. (Lilia Saoirse is a bit of a mouthful I think)
Lilia Rose is nice thoug

therewasalittlegirl · 04/09/2011 22:58

Love Lilia and Imogen!

Also love Rose, but it has infortunately become a bit a a filler middle name. Like other Rose names though - Rosa, Rosalie...

I like Lilia Rosalie or Imogen Lily :)
