Just wondering what people think of the name Henry. We made the fatal mistake of mentioning it to mil and she said 'Oh well if you like it' and her face was a classic you've got to be joking, I'm waiting for the punchline kind of face. Is it that bad??? We love it and it seems to fit with Joseph quite nicely who will be the other DT.

birdofthenorth Henry is not very popuar. I only notice a few now because of ds but often i get told what an unusual (but lovely) name it is these days!

ilovespinach · 01/09/2011 16:02

I have a Joseph and a Henry :)

first1 · 01/09/2011 13:33

Sorry I hate it Blush Charlie is much nicer

birdofthenorth · 01/09/2011 13:04

Henry & Noah are both at the top of my list! Slightly put off by their popularity but they are really great names.

Joseph & Henry sound v good together (I am in the not theming twins camp too, but these names both have 2 syllables & are both classics, so won't sound odd together)

GodKeepsGiving · 01/09/2011 12:11

DD1 is Henry. He is mischievous, kind, funny and loyal. Wonderful child and slightly eccentric. IMO lovely, solid name. However, I'm slightly biased!

I have a Henry and it's an amazing name. It goes well with Joseph, too!

Likeaheadlesschicken · 29/08/2011 18:48

I think Joey as a nn for Joseph and Charlie could be very cute when they are little but when they grown up they both have good strong independent names if you see what I mean? Having said that I know a Henry and love the name.

Popbiscuit · 29/08/2011 18:43

I've got a Henry too. He's brilliant Grin

SecretCodesandBattleships · 29/08/2011 18:32

Haha thank you for the input! It seems to be more popular on here than in RL!

I know a little Henry and he's adorable :)

OliviaMumsnet · 29/08/2011 18:28

Henry Charles
(biased? moi? definitely) Grin

alittlebitshy · 29/08/2011 18:22

Best boys name EVER. Biased? moi? Maybe Grin

SecretCodesandBattleships · 29/08/2011 18:17

Thank you. We are nowtorn between Henry and Charlie! Oh wish it was as easy as it was for DT1!

Well I really like it's Dbro2 name (well he's Henri but it is basically the name). It is perfectly fine with Joseph (not too matchy matchy which I can't stand)

fuzzyfeltfox · 29/08/2011 18:02

I think Henry needs a strong consonant sound in the surname e.g. Henry Carter sounds a strong name, Henry Smith sounds a bit wet IMO

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 27/08/2011 19:07

I have one and he is fab! (very naughty too though ;) )

BlueArmyGirl · 27/08/2011 19:05

Morally,

Regal theme of name for sure, 'Royal Family loving' most definately not :o

If we'd had another boy I wanted William (Will), Edward (Ed) or George

MugglesandLuna · 27/08/2011 18:57

My favourite boys name (DH doesnt like it though so never got to use it).

Papyrus · 27/08/2011 18:51

I have a Henry and my mum also had some misgivings (prehaps a generational thing?). But it suits DS down to the ground and we couldn't imagine calling him anything else now!

MorallyBankrupt · 27/08/2011 17:56

Oh and how about Edward?

MorallyBankrupt · 27/08/2011 17:51

I think people hear 'hooray Henry', that's what DH said. Plus he is a Republican and thinks it's a very 'Royal Family loving' name!

It's very popular, a bit boring IMO.

Noah I like a lot more.

missmiss · 27/08/2011 17:32

I love Henry. Have to say, I don't like Joseph much. George and Frederick both go well with Henry.

proudfoot · 27/08/2011 17:27

I love it. My mum also did that face when I mentioned it a few years ago though - not sure why! It is classic and quite popular so I'm not really sure what there is to object to.

SecretCodesandBattleships · 27/08/2011 13:09

Thank u. Nothing really too negative there then. Just wondering why my mil had such a strong reaction to it. Just hope it doesn't put dh off as it's the only other name we have agreed on since e both loved Joseph. We are struggling.
