Both lovely. Both work internationally. I'll vote Anna because it's a bit less popular & lovely & literary

NormanTheForeman · 01/09/2011 11:43

Definitely Anna. Hannah sounds like you are huffing over something.....

spiderlight · 01/09/2011 11:40

Anna

Ephiny · 01/09/2011 11:39

They're both nice names. I slightly prefer Anna as it just seems a bit more simple/elegant/classic. But Hannah is pretty too.

OriginalPoster · 01/09/2011 11:35

Anna it's less frequently used I think. I have two lovely friends called Anna.

pommedechocolat · 01/09/2011 11:33

I think Hannah and dh thinks Anna!

chrisrobin · 01/09/2011 11:32

Hannah

We has this debate and I think both are great. We chose Anna..disagree that it is a harsh sound and also disagree that a name has much to do with whether a girl is nice or mean! I am of the school that likes family names as middle names but if you're not fussed then just pick which sounds better with your other names and think about initials - whether they spell out anything etc..
Good luck!

Hannah

I should confess that I am very biased towards Hannah (whispers very quietly) because I am one in RL and have always loved my name ;)

proudfoot · 27/08/2011 17:21

Seems most people prefer Anna. Anna is a family name so I was leaning more towards it anyway (would be in the middle) but after watching something with a Hannah on TV last night I started wondering if it sounds a bit nicer... still not sure!

Anna for sure. It's so clean and pretty and classic. Hannah is okay, but Anna is so much nicer. :)

Olivesandfeta · 27/08/2011 13:07

Anna!

greenzebra · 27/08/2011 13:05

Hannah just sounds prettier to me.

FannyAnnPam · 27/08/2011 12:54

I prefer Hannah as it is softer... I think Anna it a harder sounding name (no reference the the person just the sound of the word).

Fatshionista · 27/08/2011 12:50

Anna. I've known horrible Anna's and Hannah's.

tigercametotea · 27/08/2011 12:48

Anna.

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 27/08/2011 12:47

Definitely Hannah. I've only ever known horrible Annas.

redglow · 27/08/2011 12:01

anna

Anna

LetThereBeRock · 27/08/2011 10:02

Hannah.

exoticfruits · 27/08/2011 09:16

Hannah (but I like them both)

learningtofly · 27/08/2011 09:02

Hannah definately for me but it depends on the surname really.

I wouldn't use an A initial if it meant the name read as a sentence ie A Hill or A Curtain or A Man. ( This stems from having knowing someone who was called Henrietta Man)

Clarabumps · 27/08/2011 08:46

Anna!

Gincognito · 27/08/2011 08:40

Anna I think, although I also like Hana (Japanese spelling, means flower). Not sure if you could get away with it without a J connection though.
