So we're onto either Lachlan or Brodie for this one but I'm looking for more suggestions. We already have a Euan, Callum and a Fergus. I had dismissed Innes but heard it in a shop today and quite liked it.

Im stuck - poor we'd Fergus was nameless for 10 days - I want to get this one cracked before he pops out.

This is a really useful thread for me - thanks! I live to close to Nairn, Brodie and Elgin to use those as names though!

Totally love Blair (am campaigning for his as name for next baby if it is a boy - OH yet to be convinced) and Hamish (OH says no). I love love love Struan but unfortunately it just doesn't go with our surname at all.

I really like Lachlan - again not great with our surname, but it's a lovely name.

Eoin (pronounced Iain)?

patindahat · 29/08/2011 14:58

Iagan?

GlaikitFizzog · 29/08/2011 13:45

DS is Blair

Was very nearly Fraser or Struan. I like Nairn and Innes, I know a few.

Brodie makes me think of the "Country Fair" place beside nairn, but thats not a huge issue!

bemybebe · 29/08/2011 13:30

I love Hamish (know a great guy with this name!) and Scott. Robert and Bruce are close next.

wigglybeezer · 29/08/2011 13:26

I know brothers called Innes ans Struan!

I had the boy name problem and I only had three but had used some favourites as middle names so DS3 was tricky.

All my favourites have been mentioned but I don't think anyone has mentioned Torran, a less common name of Gaelic origin.

Oh, I love Nairn as a name! Also know someone who named her son Elgin which I liked the sound of although would never be brave enough personally.

jenrendo · 29/08/2011 10:56

I love Harris. It would be what I would call another DS if we had one.

ThighsTheLimit · 29/08/2011 10:51

I like Archie, Blair, Campbell, Harris, Lewis, Gordon, Iain and Seamus

sweetiesue · 29/08/2011 10:38

Ah, Nurn, what a placeGrin there's even a Facebook page called "The Only Way is Nairn"!

Thumbwitch · 28/08/2011 11:21

What about Arran? Or is it too similar to Euan?

(can I just say as an aside that I love Nairn's oat biscuits, especially the summer fruits and chocolate chip varieties :))

ShoutyHamster · 28/08/2011 11:14

Nairn - no! It would be like calling him Tamworth. Or Crewe.

Can't you get Nairn biscuits?

I prefer Gregor to Gregory.

GoingToHelenaHandcart · 27/08/2011 21:48

You do know that Nairn is the punchline in the to a joke, as in 'what is the fastest town in Scotland?'' Neeeeeeeeeeeeeairn. (sound of a Ferrari roaring past).

Duhart · 27/08/2011 21:46
