Sorry, it's another help I don't like any boys names thread Smile

So the criteria is - A name you've heard of but isn't often used these days.

We want to stay away from anything he (if it is a he!) would be picked on for (DH had a hard time at school with his name)

I only really like one name so far, which is Dexter, but DH is having a hard time coming round to it as he just thinks serial killer when he hears it!

We have a DD already called Faye, and so would like to avoid another one sylable name if possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!

Many, many small Harrisons in my corner of W Yorks too.

In our local beavers group there are 4 Harrys (two of which might be Harrisons) - and two share the same initial... So I think way too popular for the OP.

Winston is cool (although Win/Winnie not so), as is Quentin (Quinn) and Dexter (Dex) imo.

HerdOfTinyElephants · 05/08/2011 22:21

Ah, George, obviously...

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 05/08/2011 22:30

Why didn't I think of George?

Suncottage · 06/08/2011 00:12

Alexander James Sinclair (vairy vairy noble and born to greatness)

But George and Alexander are both in the top 100 names, I think, so quite popular.

HerdOfTinyElephants · 06/08/2011 12:27

(Um... George is a joke as their surname is Harrison. I would not seriously advocate naming a child George Harrison.)

poppydaisy · 06/08/2011 12:29

Oh, I hadn't realised that, sorry Smile. Must read the whole thread...

Tal (Short for Taliesin)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/08/2011 14:19

Even Dexter is in the top 100! I wouldn't get too hung up about popularity below about 50 unless they are seriously on the up.

Dexifehatz · 06/08/2011 15:25

We have a Dexter Miles who was born before the series aired. It really suits him and is a great name for kids into adults. He likes Dex and I still call him Dexie,so go with it if you like it.We have a Hattie[13] and little Felicity[2].

Jasper.
I've always wanted a DS called Jasper but DH wouldn't hear of it.
I like Felix as well but if we ever have another DS, Felix is out, it's too close to DS's name.

Dexter is a fab name. TV show will be long forgotten in a few years.
