I am thinking of using this name for as yet unborn DD, any thoughts? And any suggestions for an unusual but not weird middle name to go with it please?
Thanks

I like it, but then I'm a huge Yeah Yeah Yeahs fan and it just reminds me of their super cool lead singer Karen O ... oooh, you could use the suggestion sleepywombat said and call her Karen Olivia ... Grin

Bandwithering · 19/08/2011 09:14

It was cool in about 1960. So around about 2035 it will begin to have a slightly cool vibe for babies.

Mumcentreplus · 18/08/2011 23:45

Tis my name too...I think it's cool...trendsetter!

huffs@ middle aged..bluddy cheek!

usualsuspect · 18/08/2011 23:42

I like it

nbee84 · 18/08/2011 23:39

Grin 'tis my name and I like it Grin The Yvonne does flow really nicely with Karen and I like the fact that it is not a particularly common name, but not weird either.

debrs4 · 18/08/2011 22:48

Middle aged and just vile.

EskimoPie · 13/08/2011 20:54

Very much of the era of girls born 1965-75 (in Australia, at least)...

vividgingerchilli · 13/08/2011 14:24

nbee84, Karen Yvonne has a lovely ring to it....it's on my list.

So Karen Yvonne or Karen Louise are the two favourites.

I just realised my sister had a lovely Korean friend at school called Karin, maybe that's why I like it!

LaWeasel · 09/08/2011 21:57

I like Karen too, it's not a my generation name, but it's one of the ones I like from previous ones...

A1980 · 09/08/2011 21:42

Don't! It's a horrible name. She'll get Kaz too.

Bandwithering · 08/08/2011 15:22

Not keen. There are plenty of names I like from my generation but this isn't really one of them.

pointydog · 08/08/2011 15:21

I like it. Good strong sound.

HappyAsIAm · 08/08/2011 15:11

It makes me think of Karen in Will and Grace.

fedupofnamechanging · 07/08/2011 20:03

I really like Karen. Considered it when pg with DC1, but he turned out to be a boy, so not really suitable Grin. Also knew a German Karin (pronounced kar in), which I thought was very pretty also.

reelingintheyears · 07/08/2011 17:42

Kaz/s is not nice

I still like Karen.

I suppose we all hope our children's names won't turn out to be the Brendas/Mabels/Agnes's/Prudences/Gertrudes of the future.

nbee84 · 07/08/2011 17:36

Karen Yvonne.

I'ver never been called Kaz.

Karbea · 07/08/2011 17:24

I've never been called kaz.

jenniec79 · 06/08/2011 00:01

ps not got a problem with naming after people, just want to do that for the generatin before, so Lily, Molly, Dora, Frank or Lewis.

dyzzidi · 06/08/2011 00:00

I like it but all the Karens I know (about 5 of them) do get called Kaz

jenniec79 · 05/08/2011 23:59

I like it, of my generation.

Couldn't use it as there is one in my extended "family" of Honorary Aunties etc. but otherwise might.

deste · 05/08/2011 23:50

My friend is Karen and 50. My yoga instructor is Karen/Karina and she is 52.

mathanxiety · 05/08/2011 23:25

It is Scandinavian and German.

poppydaisy · 05/08/2011 21:27

I like it. Yes, lots of 40 year olds are called Karen, but they were all babies once too Smile. At least she won't have to share her name with lots of others in her class. Nice choice imo.

No, too my generation. Don't mind it if pronounced how Ray Liotta did in Goodfellas. But it won't be will it (assuming you're not in New Jersey or wherever) Grin

I knew a Scottish one pronounced KARE EN. That's just tedious.
