Alban - All Bran
Harold - It's not an old man!
Alfred - Alf?!!
Hereward - Doesn't fit with surname and NO!!!
Arthur - Not bad but doesn't fit with surname

Yes I realised when I posted that it's Hebrew. I've not heard of Gabriel Oak, I'll have to have a google.

I also have a Joseph however that's also Hebrew and quite popular.

I like it but my DP doesn't.
Plus, its Hebrew and reminds me of Thomas Hardy's character Gabriel Oak!

I know some say it's poncey etc but I think it's a strong boys name and not popular at all where we are.
