Hi, me and my partner both have names we're pretty sure of problem is neither of us agree on the others choices!!! So any opinions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!! We already have a daughter, Lola and are expecting another girl.....

Lacey
Lexi
Ruby
Ava
Kacey

Not thought too much about spellings yet and definitely no middle name.
Thanks :)

BibiBelle · 26/07/2011 22:52

Penny
Bea either on it's own or as a nn for Beatrice
Imogen

fishandlilacs · 26/07/2011 22:51

Lacey, kacey and Lexi-council estate common round here. Sorry if that sounds snobby but I work with young teenage mums from vulnerable backgrounds and so many of them have called thier children, Lacey, Lexi or Kacey

Ruby-lovely
Ava-lovely

SpottyFrock · 26/07/2011 22:50

I love Nell but DH hated Gwendolyne and I couldn't think what else it could be short for other than Ellen which we couldn't use for family reasons.

LetThereBeRock · 26/07/2011 22:49

By least offensive I mean that I don't really like any of them, but Ava is the nicest of them, then Ruby.

I have to agree that the other three sound far more 'chavvy' than Sasha. Sasha is lovely, though nicest on a boy imho, but works for both genders.

BibiBelle · 26/07/2011 22:45

Oh and we know 3 Lexie's not one Ruby or Ava and we're in Scotland too Smile

What about

Amber
Erin
Skye
Skylar
Amelie
Jemma
Roxy
Nell

DelicateQ · 26/07/2011 22:44

What are your favourites? ...and what are your partners favourites?

DelicateQ · 26/07/2011 22:43

Orla (too similar to Lola?)

DelicateQ · 26/07/2011 22:41

Evie does go very well with Lola

Keeley
Macey
Mackenzie

BibiBelle · 26/07/2011 22:41

We have a Lexie nn for Alexandra but I'm also not keen on the two L names
what about

Sylvie? Lola and Sylvie is pretty
Violet
Celeste
Mirren (muiranne)
Arianne
Cassia
Saskia
Scarlett
Mya
Jess

SpottyFrock · 26/07/2011 22:38

Not keen on the term, chavvy but I have to say, Lacey and Kacey sound far more chavvy than Sasha. Though, to me, Sasha is a boy's name primarily.

DH just said that he thinks Evie goes with Lola. I still think Sadie goes well. What about Poppy? Or Romilly? (though maybe Romilly is too traditional/old fashioned for your taste)

Or what about Tess? That sounds nice with Lola.

Unlurked · 26/07/2011 22:36

I like Ruby and Ava and only know one of each.

How about:

Darcey
Phoebe
Macey
Emmey
Sadie

lchodge · 26/07/2011 22:29

Getoutmypub I like Kayla/Layla but does sound very similar.

Don't really like any of them Delicate. My partner likes Sasha but I think its very chavvy sounding!

DelicateQ · 26/07/2011 22:22

I like Ruby best on your list.

How about

Alisha
Allie
Bella
Ellie
Gaby
Isis
Jasmine
Kenzie
Lori
Nicole
Poppy
Sasha
Tiffanie

GetOutMyPub · 26/07/2011 22:20

DS friend is called Lola & her sister is Freya.

and CECE, my niece is called Tierney. SIL really wanted a boy and had chosen the name Tiernan from quite early on. Then DN appeared Grin Hated it at first but actually quite like it now. (still not what I would choose)

With both pregnancies, we had to stop discussing girls names or we would have ended up in the divorce courts Grin Luckily we had two bonny boys!

What about -
Jaycey
Kayla (too similar?)
Kayleigh
Eva
Orlena
Isla

I really like the sound of Molly & Lola or Isla & Lola together. (suppose same number of syllables/similar sounding)

HTH

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 26/07/2011 22:19

Ava and Lola sound too similar to me. Ruby or Lexie.

5GoMadOnAZ650 · 26/07/2011 22:14

I like Ruby, it's quite popular where I live at the moment, I know two off of the top of my head.

KristinaM · 26/07/2011 22:12

agree ruby or ava. no L names since you have a Lola already

DialsMavis · 26/07/2011 22:10

Ruby or Ava get my vote too.

lchodge · 26/07/2011 22:10

least offensive? I wasn't aware any of them were offensive?!?

OP posts:
Hulababy · 26/07/2011 22:04

Ruby or Ava

LetThereBeRock · 26/07/2011 22:02

I don't like any of them, but Ava is perhaps the least offensive.I've never understood the popularity of Ruby.

muminthemiddle · 26/07/2011 21:57

Another vote for Ava or Ruby.

ragged · 26/07/2011 19:27

I would have spelt Lexi as Lexi. Putting an e on the end makes me think of Pixie (ugh).

SpottyFrock · 26/07/2011 17:24

Or thea? Does that go with Lola?

SpottyFrock · 26/07/2011 17:20

If you go for Lexie definitely put an e on the end otherwise it will be forever misspelt.
How about Sadie? There's a Lola in dd1's class and her sisters Sadie. Or Stella?
