I have a Matilda NN Tilly
and like Stella NN Ella......

What do you think of the name?

Iggly · 19/07/2011 12:44

Makes me think of the lager... Ella is a nice name on itself.

basingstoke · 19/07/2011 12:45

I love Stella. Not sure why you would use Ella as a nickname, but none of business either really!!

iwantavuvezela · 19/07/2011 12:45

I love the name stella ... but i would never think of ella as being the nickname .. why not just go with ella if that is what you really want ....

Tidey · 19/07/2011 12:46

STELLAAAAAAAAA!
Sorry, automatic reaction. It is a nice name but has a few negative connotations that jump to mind.

Kayano · 19/07/2011 12:48

Shiela goes out with her mate Stella...
It gets poured all over her fella...

MamaLazarou · 19/07/2011 12:50

Stella was a diver and she was always down.

MamaLazarou · 19/07/2011 12:50

'Stella NN Ella'... WTF??

sirhandel · 19/07/2011 13:30

Lovely name. But be prepared for the beer comments from people.

pedalpants · 19/07/2011 15:59

stella, lovely lovely name. don't think of beer. but NN ella is odd. just name ella if that is what you really want.

WaitingForBabyD · 19/07/2011 16:07

I really like Stella but would worry about the beer connotations. I also like Estella (as in Great Expectations) but not sure that avoids the beer issues!

bibbitybobbityhat · 19/07/2011 16:10

Love love love Stella. Why tf would you want to shorten it to Ella when about 1 girl in 10 is called Ella or Ellie?

HollyGoHeavily · 19/07/2011 16:19

I hear the name Stella, I get thirsty......

Sossiges · 19/07/2011 16:23

"Makes me think of the lager."
It's good lager Smile.
I love Stella.
NN Ella is a bit funny though, just call her Ella if you prefer it.

SixtyFootDoll · 19/07/2011 16:29

I,love the name Stella, really pretty. Not sue of Ella as a nn

BibiBelle · 19/07/2011 16:29

Ella not common everywhere Hmm

Stella is beer though Smile

minipie · 19/07/2011 16:54

Stella is a lovely name, but the beer connotation has ruined it for me sadly.

Estelle?

Bella? (Though then you have Twilight associations).

BikeRunSki · 19/07/2011 16:58

My 7 yo niece is Stella, nn Lala.

I like it, and DSis has only had a few beer comments (although she did convince a very sheltered Muslim girl that she worked with that her DD's middle name was Artois, with co-worker thought was a lovely name!).

Roopoo · 19/07/2011 17:57

Blush re Ella.....It's not that I like it so much as that I always like the idea of having a NN
I really love Stella in it's own right...BUT the beer thing does put me off slightly...........

reastie · 19/07/2011 21:20

I really like the name stella but couldn't choose it for my dd as I just kept thinking of the beer

razzlebathbone · 20/07/2011 14:21

I think it's lovely, but see no point in shortening it to Ella.

If you think about Stella McCartney, do you think the lager?
