Is Jasper fab or drab next to these sibling names...?

Two boys named Felix and Theodore - we love their names to bits and want an equally fabulous boy name to go with them.

Do you think Jasper is a bit boring/predictable after Felix and Theodore. I love it but want to know what you think.

Any other suggestions?

I also love Sebastian but think thank definitely falls into the predictable category. I guess for our last child I want to go a tiny bit left field to make the set of names remarkable (to me).

I like Jasper, maybe cos I have a good friend with that name. I think it works very well with sibling names - if you think it might be too plain, how about Fabian? (My friend Jasper's brother's name)

muminthemiddle · 24/07/2011 13:25

I think Jasper goes well with your other names. I do think it will date though, probably more than Sebastion but do agree with the poster who said they don't like the Bastion sound at the end of Sebastion.

WiiUnfit · 23/07/2011 16:39

I love Jasper & Sebastian, I want Jasper for if we have another Son but DP has just completely veto'd it :(

I would also like to second adding Hugo & Jago to the mix, funky!

WottingerAndWottingerAreDead · 21/07/2011 21:12

Yes it def goes with your other dc names! Would sound lovely together

diddl · 21/07/2011 10:32

I really like it & think it goes well with the other names.

Like Sebastian also.

I always wanted an Oscar & a Felix!

slapdashsusie · 21/07/2011 09:54

Snap! I have a jasper and a felix, and a julian too. To be honest, Jasper feels more "datestamped" to me than the other two, that is, Julian and Felix could be any age between 1 and 100, Jasper conjures up for me a child born at the beginning of the 21st century (excepting cousin Jasper from Brideshead!). Although, I am not in England, where these names are more in use I think.
We call our Jasper Jappy, btw.

aliveandkickingme · 18/07/2011 17:17

Jasper is v nice. I prefer it to Sebastian. It is a bit less predictable with the other names too.

sparkle12mar08 · 18/07/2011 14:40

Jasper is fab with that sibling set! Do it!

emmyloo2 · 18/07/2011 06:13

I love your children's names and think Jasper works well with them. They are the same "type" of names. And I love Jasper!

notlettingthefearshow · 17/07/2011 22:31

I think your children's names are beautiful, including Jasper. Trust your gut feeling! x

muddleddaizy · 17/07/2011 22:22

Jojay · 17/07/2011 22:11

Do it. You won't regret it

BibiBelle · 16/07/2011 22:41

Saul or Sonny

Dexifehatz · 16/07/2011 22:19

Casper? Calixto? Fox? Guthrie? Augustus? Gillespie? Homer? Inigo? Leviathan? Cassius? Magnus?

tammy234 · 16/07/2011 21:31

I also don't like the pronunciation Sebass-chan (as my American friends call their son).

tammy234 · 16/07/2011 21:31

I much prefer Jasper to Sebastian (don't like Seb/Sebbie/Basty).

Tarlia · 16/07/2011 18:53

Do you have Scandinavian roots? All very popular. I love both Jasper and Sebastian.

LetLoveRule · 16/07/2011 12:28

IMO Jasper/Sebastian are the same 'type' of name as Felix and Theo. They are all lovely names and v well used around here so I wouldn't go for anything too 'left-field' or it might look a bit odd. Slightly prefer Jasper.

I love Jasper and think it is more unusual than the other two. I have a Felix. I also love Sebastian.

May I suggest Monty, Caspar, Cassian, or Hugo.

mopsyflopsy · 16/07/2011 09:46

Jasper is much nicer and cooler than Sebastian which sounds a little 'wet' to me. I'm not keen on Seb/Sebby either.

Sophiesmummie · 16/07/2011 09:44

I also agree that Theo in particular is very very popular round here.

Sophiesmummie · 16/07/2011 09:43

Jasper goes well and is lovely. Cool and not overused.

I really don't like the Seb part of Sebastian (reminds me of sebacious, which means oily), nor do I like the Bastian/Basty part to be honest.
