It would appear that this is the chosen name for their longer for darling daughter!!!!! Shock

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Dh was quite excited by the whole 'Seven' thing (he owns a signed Cantona shirt-he was number 7 at ManU too).

Whatever her name, she will be one of the most wanted and fussed over little girls around, I imagine.

Yes- she used Harper BECAUSE it sounded masculine, and therefore she would be more likely to be taken seriously in male dominated profession. Like George Eliot.

share · 11/07/2011 11:34

Quite tame for celebs don't you think?! Think this would be a good time to ask MNHQ for a smiley with a big grin on it's face which rolls about from laughing so much.

God I really must get a life even opening this thread now to add my comment.

pranma · 11/07/2011 11:33

I thought they chose it because of Mrs B's connection with the magazine Harpers Bazaar!
Or should that be Harper's bizarre?[sorry-actually I quite like Harper but Seven.......]

missmiss · 11/07/2011 11:30

I like Harper. I don't know why people think it sounds masculine - Harper Lee* was very much female!

*YY I know her first name was Nelle, but still...

Caramel when I heard the name on the radio this morning, I thought they'd said Half Past Seven Blush.

Harper is actually not as "out there" as I'd expected. Seven is however Grin.

I thought that after wanting a little girl for so many years they would pick something uber-girly & fluffy. Pink Princess for example Hmm.

Quite like Harper...could have been worse...I think "Seven" is cos it was David's number when playing for England maybe??

DogsBestFriend · 11/07/2011 11:22

Poor little bugger!

Harper Seven? Hmm

PlumBumMum · 11/07/2011 11:20

CoffeeIsMyFriend Thats the first thing I said to dd1, Harper where do we know that name from and she said Wizards of Waverly although doubt Victoria will want her to have her fashion sense

SunnilyEnough · 11/07/2011 11:20

I think Harper is ok, not my favourite but not too out-there. Seven just made me think of George Costanza, which made me laugh.

diddl · 11/07/2011 11:19

"reflects her American 'heritage' in choosing a name no-one in this country would think of "

???

Blimey, I think quite a few people have thought of Harper in the UK.

We did for our teenage daughter, but wanted a feminine name.

CharlieBoo · 11/07/2011 11:14

I think it fits in with her other children's names (not a good thing IMO), but thought she would go for something more feminine... We know a 7 year old little boy called Harper... Much better on a boy I think but even then it's not to my taste.

merryberry · 11/07/2011 11:05

Just makes me think of head in box
(LoL half past seven, Greatandwondrous)

Sidge · 11/07/2011 11:05

It's dull.

Harper sounds like a department store name.

I imagined Vicky would go for something much more girlie and snazzy. Harper is quite hard and androgynous and immediately makes me think of Harpic toilet cleaner.

NoHunIntended · 11/07/2011 11:04

Oh, I like it a lot!

luvvinlife · 11/07/2011 10:59

I thought 7 was the number of the hotle room she was concieved in.

hoofhearted · 11/07/2011 10:58

Yeuk!!

FREE THE HARPER SEVEN !!!

sonniebonnie · 11/07/2011 10:57

Harper? Really don't like it at all, I'm afraid. Sounds harsh, masculine and certainly won't travel well into other languages.

OTheHugeManatee · 11/07/2011 10:56

A Harper Seven sounds like it could have been the name of a type of WW2 bomber. I can just hear the Discovery Channel voiceover:

"...but they had reckoned without Bomber Command's newly commissioned squadron of Harper Sevens, which swept down from the north before the rising storm. Nearly 10,000 homes were destroyed in that attack."

mysterynotsolved · 11/07/2011 10:54

Absolutely horrible ! Very harsh.

rachel1970 · 11/07/2011 10:43

Oh, yes a harpist Smile.
