It would appear that this is the chosen name for their longer for darling daughter!!!!! Shock

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Dozer · 11/07/2011 15:51

Seven? Have they not seen the film?!

Commiserations momino.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 11/07/2011 15:06

i agree it sounds like a space shuttle, but i do like "Harper" on its own.

Janus · 11/07/2011 14:44

We had a son 3 months ago and Harper was on our girls list, along with Nel!! In fact when we went to register our son my husband still tried to get Harper as his middle name but I refused (and we had a row in front of the registrar!!) as I thought it was too girlie. He's eating his words this morning!

fatlazymummy · 11/07/2011 14:32

I didn't even realise these are names. They just sound like words to me. I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to call a baby either of these names, especially a girl. [just my opinion of course].

katkitya · 11/07/2011 14:29

I don't know why people are having a dig at it tbh and, why wouldn't the Beckhams be Seinfeld fans? Why do the bring out the snobbery in people so much?

Megglevache · 11/07/2011 14:26

Really like it. Sorry.

Think it's a very safe and strong name.

And I know one and she is lovely.

And it's a name I'd choose for my own child Grin

swingingcat · 11/07/2011 14:25

I like the name Harper not so keen on Seven but understand the meaning for it.

I went to school with a girl called Harper and that was back in 1970s in the wilds of rural Norfolk!

deardear · 11/07/2011 14:23

i quite like Harper but Seven is just la la land I'm afraid.

katkitya · 11/07/2011 14:23

What's it got to do with Sienfeld? I thought I was a fan and, I haven't got it!

emmanana · 11/07/2011 14:18

Give it a few years, and all you will hear in soft play/nurseries/playgrounds:
'Arpur, git 'ere ya little sod'
'Get orf that swing Arpie'
And no doubt the chavs will invent their own unique spelling of the name, Harpur, Harpurr, Hahper etc
Lovely.

hazeyjane · 11/07/2011 14:10

Btw, I believe Harper is a unisex name.

lilaloves · 11/07/2011 14:10

It still sounds a bit harsh to me, but if they love it.
Harlow has a similar feel but a little more feminine.

fifitot · 11/07/2011 14:06

Harper is OK.

Like a few others I too got the George Costanza reference!

clesnce04 · 11/07/2011 14:06

lovin the name harper

smokeybacon · 11/07/2011 14:04

Well, l like it. The fact that Dave Grohl has a Harper too has absolutely nothing to do with it. And middle names are overrated so Seven, who cares really?

Victoria, thumbs up from me (not that you'll care!).

Hedwig3 · 11/07/2011 13:49

Fits with the names of the boys, they all have a 'surnamey' sound.

Half-past-seven - love it Grin

NattersAndMutters · 11/07/2011 13:48

Hideous name.

As for the second name. I knew some people who named a child Seven in the 1970s, they "just liked the sound of it".

going · 11/07/2011 13:30

I really thought they would go for a feminine name for thier daughter.

Will always think of it as half past seven!

DiamanteMaddy · 11/07/2011 13:27

Sounds like 'half-past seven' to me?!? Well thats what i thought they said when I first heard it announced!
Grin

katkitya · 11/07/2011 13:24

What's with flowing names??? I've never heard anything like it. I bet our parents didn't think whether our names flowed or not!!! I really like it but, it's popular enough already. I bet to their American friends it's like ella, nice name but, there's zillions.

mumoftwob0ys · 11/07/2011 13:20

I think its a lovely name :) I always wanted a girl

iklboo · 11/07/2011 13:17

My friend thought we were saying the baby had been born at "har' past seven" Grin

FoofusScrimgeour · 11/07/2011 13:15

It's a hard sounding name. Presumably she won't be continually called by her full name but to my ear Harper Beckham doesn't flow. pbpbpbpb.

It's like Jessie Wallace little girl Tallulah Lilac. LLLLLLLLL It just ...trips up. IYSWIM

diddl · 11/07/2011 13:13

But just because Harper Lee is female, it doesn´t (imo) make the name sound any less masculine.

AbsDuCroissant · 11/07/2011 13:10

The Beckhams never really struck me as Seinfeld fans ...
