It would appear that this is the chosen name for their longer for darling daughter!!!!! Shock

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I like Harper. Although I do know a couple of them, and am surprised they didn't go with something a little more original, based on the names of their boys.

I did think she'd go for something a bit more 'princessy', though.

Quenelle · 12/07/2011 11:07

I quite like Harper. Perhaps TKAM is their favourite film...? Perhaps they're huge fans of Gregory Peck...?

Seven is strange but it's only a middle name, I think middle names are pointless anyway.

I do think 'Half Past Seven' is quite funny though.

Ylauraloo1 · 12/07/2011 11:03

I love the name, not what I expected at all

MirandaGoshawk · 12/07/2011 10:58

"..Think it's particularly unfair to assume that neither Beckham would have read Mockingbird"
Er, Victoria has admitted to never having finished a book. David is lovely/talented in many ways but I doubt that reading novels is one of them Hmm

I don't like Harper. Sorry. Sounds too much like a surname. But as has been said, could've been worse.

As for Seven, middle names don't matter much, do they?

musicalsinger913 · 12/07/2011 10:54

Sickening. I weep for the sake of society.

CrapolaDeVille · 12/07/2011 10:36

Melika.... Obviously you know the Beckhams personally. Hmm

lilaloves · 12/07/2011 09:50

Melika-what do you mean they have done things in private??

chickydoo · 12/07/2011 09:33

A terrible name!!
What were they thinking...........

melika · 12/07/2011 08:27

Who is to say she will be pretty? What does it matter anyway, she will be enhanced as she grows up. God knows the Beckhams have done a lot in secret. She will be wearing high heels by the time she is three just like Suri.

It is obscene. Lets get back to reality, please.

CrapolaDeVille · 12/07/2011 08:27

Seven is never really going to be used is it? One of my dcs has a way out there middle name but realistically only in the first few months of his life will anyone even hear it!!

I like Harper.... really like it. Although I also thought they would choose something more girly. Still they've had a healthy baby girl and that's the main thing.

chociceandchips · 12/07/2011 07:32

i think its a lovely name- and seven is supposed to be a magical and lucky number anyway:)
i guess names depend on the circles you mix in anyway, at our playgroup all the girls seem to be called poppy and boys harry. in fact if you have no clue what a child is called, its safe to plump for one of them!

nooka · 12/07/2011 06:21

Harper is a pretty mainstream girl's name in the States - it's rocked in popularity in this last decade according to babynamewizard. In fact with the exception of Brooklyn (which is a popular girl's name) none of their names are that unusual there.

FellatioNelson · 12/07/2011 00:24

I don't dislike Harper - it's fine. But really, these slebs need their heads banging together. Do they not think these things through a bit? First we had Pile o' Shit, then Sunday Roast, now Half Past Seven.

Purpleswimmingtiger · 11/07/2011 23:35

Are they big Sci fi fans?
7 of 9, Blakes 7.

Or perhaps it's how many millions Harpers Bazaar paid for the advertising.

muminthemiddle · 11/07/2011 23:19

I have heard worse.
I assumed that they would go for a more feminine sounding name. Not to offend anyone but Harper sounds more unisex to me.

hagridthehamster · 11/07/2011 22:58

Harper is nice I think, not a name I would choose but the sad thing is that it wont be unusual for too much longer now. Seven Shock Hmm

Mumbrane · 11/07/2011 22:41

Harper isn't to my taste and is already quite ahem popular 'round my way. Seven is way too try hard. They would have been much more cutting edge if they had just called the poor girl Jane.

Beccabop · 11/07/2011 22:41

I quite like Harper, pretty name, cos they will defo have a pretty girl.

The Seven lets it down though, especially if thats to do with his football career. Too pretentious!

Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Lovely names.

hazeyjane · 11/07/2011 22:27

Inspector Gadget, don't be gutted, Harper is a lovely name, and is still a great name.

I don't get why people are quite so full of vitriol about the Beckhams, and their choice of names, it's bizarre.

And, I'll say it again, it is UNISEX!

melika · 11/07/2011 21:58

Er, what's the time, Mr Wolf?

It's half past seven!

Good thinking!

DragonAlley · 11/07/2011 21:52

nothing wrong with Harper.

Seven is fucking stupid though. Still, at least it is only a middle name.

InspectorGadget · 11/07/2011 21:35

In my opinion there is nothing even remotely masculine about the name Harper. I too have a much longed for baby girl, she is only 5 months old, and we have called her Harper. Perhaps I didn't long for her enough for some posters, to saddle her with such a crap name. Hmm

It's not an american name either, it is English. I had never heard of The Wizards of Waverly Place until we started telling people her name. I was miffed enough about that (the assumption from some people that that is where the name came from) but I am absolutely gutted that the Beckhams have chosen it. Irrationally so. :(

teahouse · 11/07/2011 21:32

OMG - what a cr*p name; only some pretentious celebrity would name their child this. Still, at least she'll never have to wear a name badge and ask 'would you like fries with that'.

Raahh · 11/07/2011 21:18

toskay Nelle Harper Lee wrote 'To kill a mockingbird'

Seven was DB's shirt number at Man U (and England?), hence why it has significance.

So there isn't a connection between Seven and TKAMB. At least. I don't think so...

csemum · 11/07/2011 21:16

it's pretty and the little lady will be too :)
