Oh please..who knows why baby was named 'seven' lets face it it was an idiotic decision. And not influenced at alll by any 'popular cu,ture' (it my family can even be referred to as popular'

Bump-o-rama...

If she's almost 4, I think they probably won't. Hmm

Why are people so quick to judge?! How does anyone know if she reads or not?! I think theyre a lovely family who have kept their kids out of the limelight as much as they can and I personally LOVE the name!

diddl · 17/07/2011 10:49

It probably depends how old you are as to whether your first thought is Harper Lee, Harper´s Bazaar or WOWP.

And even after DB´s explanation, I think a lot will stick to their own thoughts.

Our two have names from Lord of the Rings & Gone with the Wind.

But it´s not because we think that the books or authors are so fantastic, just that we liked the names when we came across them.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 17/07/2011 09:44

I think David B explained why they chose the name Harper because there were so many different stories circling around, such as they chose the name because their boys like the tv show Wizards of wavely Place. Stories wont stop until the truth comes out ...for any story that is.

madhattershouse · 17/07/2011 00:33

Apparently the name is not the problem...
too many children

GenevieveHawkings · 17/07/2011 00:30

Yeah right! I'm sure Posh would find "The Beano" turgid and impenetrable.

diddl · 16/07/2011 08:22

It made me laugh-but I wonder why the need to explain/justify-Harper isn´t that off the wall, is it?

It´s not like OMG-I´ve never heard of that name, where on earth did it come from?

I thought it might have been for Harper´s Bazaar.

Harper Seven

Clearly they had run out of inspiration this time. I'd say Harper is very ordinary, unoriginal and tame for America - and I thought Posh prided herself on being individual and unique. Well, she's let herself down badly there.

Every other celeb in Hollywood has a designer daughter accessory with a daft name, Harlow, Hunter, Pixie, Poxy etc so Harper is relatively dull and pedestrian in comparison.

I think they added the "Seven" for effect simply to give it what they clearly thought was a "twist" and to get people talking. Quite frankly it just sounds daft.

I LOLd earlier when I read that someone on the DM celeb TV and Showbiz site that someone had said Harper Severn sounded like a cheap brand of larger - Harper Seven 4 cans for 50p in Spar.

So Posh and Becks now have a whole brood of kids with chavvy names! I suppose this child will now be hawked around wearing designer leopard skin ponchos and 3 inch heels at the age of 2. She'll be doing her best to outdo Katie Holmes in the who can be the most loving and attentive celeb mommy stakes

What's the betting "Harper" will fast become one of the most commonly heard girls' names hollered out in Primark very soon? Right behind Lexie, Paige, Ashleigh and Teigan.

diddl · 15/07/2011 13:31

I didn´t think Brooklyn was so called because that was where he was conceived-thought that that was a myth tbh.

Omozi · 15/07/2011 13:12

I personally feel children should be given names that "make Sence" what does harper seven mean?

Nightstar · 15/07/2011 13:04

But Miranda, just think how many children are going to be called Inbed. It will become the most popular name in Britain I would think

MirandaGoshawk · 14/07/2011 22:33

I think naming your dc after their place of conception makes it really special. My little Scunthorpe Railway Arches is very proud of her unique name.

Nightstar · 14/07/2011 18:44

issynoko I like your style! I'm now going to name my children : Tempa Sthree and Fivfif Teen

KatieBaby · 14/07/2011 09:39

Harper is ok ... but Seven?! [I know why ... but think they should have done that for one of their boys]

shezzle · 13/07/2011 21:51

just makes me think of harper collins book publisher

ledkr · 13/07/2011 19:52

jklikesrowing · 13/07/2011 18:58

DancingWind · 13/07/2011 18:23

They named DD Brooklyn. I'm not surprised.

dawbs74 · 13/07/2011 18:21

Lozario she is only 3 months old so I don't think most people will realise DH really against us changing it but I think we should maybe!

issynoko · 13/07/2011 18:20

My DD is called Quarter Twait. Time is the new fruit.

HarperSeven · 13/07/2011 13:05
