Two kids with names starting with same letter

Is this ok that both my boys would start with an 'E'? Dh and I can only only agree on one name, which is getting frustrating. I like the only one we agree on but I don't passionately love it, and I'm really stuck.

My sister and I have the same initial.

Most of the time when we were growing up post wasn't an issue - mail was generally expected or you could identify the sender from the envelope. If not it could be sorted once open, although when small it was annoying not to have had the "thrill" of opening your own letter. But the year I was 17 & she 15, a Valentine's card arrived. We still don't know who it was for (or who it was from)

To add an extra consideration, my name begins with L but both my siblings first names begin with R. I think some people thought I might feel left out/they might not feel unique. But it is something that has not bothered any of us at all!

And imo the post thing is only an issue for a small amount of time, so I wouldn't let that stop you either.

As long as you don't do a Kardashian type thingy though where you change the spelling of a name to fit the letter.

Gah Khloe and Kourtney!!!

(For the record, I am sure the OP isn't doing that and I agree with the post thingy being negligible.)

Both of mine have the same initial, G. I think it's fine. Post is always addressed to Miss G or Master G or the parent of gardian of (their full name)

When they are adults i expect they will live in their own houses

Post problem is negliable in my opinion. My hubby has the same name as his dad and there was only one (really quite funny, involving something hubby had bought for a stag do) post opening incident! My eldest son has the same initial as hubby too. I definately wouldn't rule out a name I liked for this reason.

Me and my DSis have the same initial. Post as never been a problem. We have different middle initials and most important/official letters are addressed to Miss X Y Catinboots etc.

Go for it. It'll save money on school name-tapes.

E Smith

X posts!

Just think of post when they are a bit older Mr E. Smith.

Less of an issue when its boy/girl.

Kayano · 09/07/2011 19:36

I always say no to names starting with the same letter if they are the same sex due to future post issues.....

Mr. E Xxxxxx

for both of them, if one of them gets very private letter etc, other one may open it

I have a boy and a girl both starting with 'B'. No problems at all.
