If you are thinking of Elizabeth...be careful

Tesco have relaunched their own brand of Sanitary products and called them

Libbi

which is the NN we use for DD.

Don't really want her being called tampon, so may have to rethink the NN

(I posted this is AIBU and they were all quite rude Grin)

Well morrisons tampon brand is 'Eve' and Eve, Eva and Evie are all still super popular!

I couldnt call my dd flora ,because dh couldn't get past the margerine connection. tit. You will always find some prat singering whatever you casll your child unless its hannah,sophie,olivia,jessica et al.

i went to school with a girl called Fleur. When we were around 15, they launched a brand of tampons called.... Fleur Tampons... she just shrugged it off.

I wouldn't worry. I have a 6 year old called Pearl and was a bit gutted when Pearl Tampax appeared, but nobody has ever mentioned it.

Yes, thats the great thing about Elizabeth - there are so many nicknames to choose from.

Anyway supermarkets rebrand their own products fairly often, I imagine it'll be called something else, by the time your daughter and her peers are aware of sanitary products Smile

I think you are over reacting a bit tbh. I googled "libbi" and it didn't come up (the tesco product) in the first few pages.
They will no doubt rebrand/rename again in a few years.
Sainsburys own brand sanpro used to be liberty. No idea at all why I remember that!

YANBU. It's not the brightest idea to give a product a human name, particularly one like this. Wonder whether the top Tesco executives would like a sanitary product named after them? Thought not.

I'm not really going to change her NN, but I just think Tesco are a bit silly to use an actual name instead of a word.

Suppose I can just avoid that aisle and use a mooncup instead!!

Does it matter? If its an own brand they won't be advertised regularly, perhaps occasionally as part of a special offer.

Its not like Always or Tampax or Bodyform, all brands in their own right so you see the adverts and everyone is aware of them. I buy supermarket own brand sanitary towels, have done for years, and I couldn't even hazard a guess at what the range is called.

Libby is a lovely name, I think you'd be daft to change her nickname now, especially if she is used to it.
