I actually snorted when I saw the thread title. And assumed it would be a boy's name.

Don't do it!

audley · 08/07/2011 16:41

Gorgeous, juniper joy is my dream girls name

LetThereBeRock · 08/07/2011 16:28

It's dreadful.

sparkle12mar08 · 08/07/2011 14:44

Given your other names I'd just go with Juno instead. Juniper doesn't fit.

OTheHugeManatee · 08/07/2011 13:22

Mmmmm. Gin.

redexpat · 08/07/2011 13:17

I saw the title of the thread and instantly thought juniper berry scene from Monty Python's life of Brian. It's different but not totally out there iyswim. I quite like it.

charlottery · 08/07/2011 10:55

I love it, but our surname is Jones, so not sure it would really work

fishandlilacs · 07/07/2011 21:37

I like it very much, I like the 60's hippy connotations it brings to mind :)

BBNElea · 07/07/2011 21:30

I think it makes an interesting alternative to the many popular flower names and Juno would make a spunky nickname. In the Victorian language of flowers Juniper meant 'succour, protection'.

DELHI · 06/07/2011 14:39

Not sure - a bit hippy-dippy perhaps

LemonDifficult · 05/07/2011 17:01

I am a real names traditionalist but Juniper is lovely, lovely, lovely. Not icky in a Bluebell-type flower name way just kinda strong and earthy. Gorgeous.

Nightstar · 05/07/2011 16:57

I know two sisters called Juniper and Rowan, to be fair though they did get a lot of flack in their teens

Rhubarbgarden · 05/07/2011 16:35

Ooh I like that! I might have to add it to my own list!

JanMorrow · 05/07/2011 11:30

It's my daughter's name! Apart from being called a hippy a couple of times it has got very good reactions. One lady from work did mention gin.. but that doesn't bother me. We do call her Juno.

PickleSarnie · 05/07/2011 07:09

Mmmmmm, gin. Is 7:09 too early?!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 05/07/2011 07:06

Old naked bloke in the Life of Brian. I would giggle if I heard it

emmyloo2 · 05/07/2011 06:59

I know a Juniper who is in her mid-30s. Her sister is Saffron. I think they are actually both lovely names. Not my normal style (I like old fashioned names) but I think it is really quite nice.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 05/07/2011 06:46

I think immediately of gin, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

HengshanRoad · 05/07/2011 06:38

The "nipper" sound puts me off. Jew nipper.

HerRoyalNotness · 04/07/2011 23:19

I'd use it for my potential DD if a friend hadn't bagged it for her potential DD, potentially Grin

I love it.

MelinaM · 04/07/2011 23:17

Just named my friends DD's new rocking horse this Grin

suspiria · 04/07/2011 22:33

I think it's quite sweet.

SloganLogan · 04/07/2011 22:23

It's very pretty but perhaps a little pretentious. I'd also avoid it because it reminds me of gin!

menazovut · 04/07/2011 22:01

But the nn harmless?

It would be with a eastern european surname. Siblings: Mila, Illona, Lawrence, Andryi (Andrew here)

Are you OK with the Percy Jackson reference? (she's a tree spirit, girlfriend of Grover, the satyr - an OK character)
