hi, we're due in 9weeks and dont know what we're having. we have a girls name picked out but cannot agree on a boys name. our eldest daughter is honey and our son is devon if that helps? though it hasnt helped us!!!!
when our daughter was born we only had a girls name picked out so its a good job she's a girl!! this time around if we're having a boy i think it may end up being a case of 'u look like a (name)'

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

what good taste in names you have!!
I have a DS called Devon and when pregnant with DD had these boys names on my list

Grady
Colby
Dexter
Asa
Blaise
Cole

what girls name have you chosen? ( we couldnt agree on a girls name!!)

I put Devon into "Nymbler"- a naming site and it suggested a few names. Logan was my favourite of these but maybe sounds too similar. How about Ethan? Nice name though getting popular.

Pendulum · 05/07/2011 07:49

I was going to say Ambrose too- love this name. Although you'd have to be prepared for lots of "Devon knows....." jokes.

CharlieBoo · 05/07/2011 07:41

Agree agree agree noddyholder.....

herecomesthsun · 05/07/2011 07:40

I like Ambrose! I think something rather lush sounding would be good. Piran for a boy is patron saint of Cornwall. I think Zephyr, Rowan, Inigo or Jago also sound good. Isaac means "I laughed" which I think is rather cool.

CharlieBoo · 05/07/2011 07:40

Devon and Honeys mummy.... Ignore ignore ignore, there are some 'stupid' people on his thread, I hope it doesn't put you off coming back and I hope you get some more suggestions.

noddyholder · 05/07/2011 07:35

How can a name be stupid when it has no inherent self and is only a word? A person on the other hand........

noddyholder · 05/07/2011 07:33

Tiger Jude Redd Rudi

Asinine · 05/07/2011 07:33

Me too, posh but not made up or pretentious. Even better if great great grandfather was called it...

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 05/07/2011 07:31

Mine were too - the 'theme' thing was because I don't have the faintest clue what names 'go' with Honey and Devon, so food is as good as any. But I deliberately only suggested proper names.

I really like Ambrose.

Asinine · 05/07/2011 07:26

As most parents (and dog trainers) know, the most effective way to deal with bad behavior is to ignore, ignore, ignore. If you feel there are posts in bad taste, either ignore them or report them. Or hide the thread.

Btw, my suggestion was serious, Ambrose and Honey go together and it is an old West country name, I think.

allhailtheaubergine · 05/07/2011 06:55

Yeah - it's a funny line Hengshan but this is not a cheap shot stand up show.

This is a parenting website. By parents, for parents. It's about making the lives of parents easier. A pregnant woman has asked for advice about something and your reply is to mock her children's names. Are you a parent yourself? I find it unlikely.

And Sirzy - no, not OTT at all. "on message boards you have to take the good comments with the bad" - well only if people are being cunts.

MollysChamber · 05/07/2011 06:40

Ouch!

HengshanRoad · 05/07/2011 06:37

"Why would you mock the names of someone's children?"

Because they're stupid names?

MissHonkover · 04/07/2011 22:33

Love the suggestions of Seth and Emile.

jimmijam · 04/07/2011 20:48

Thanks charlieboo. We actually know a devon the same age as ours and there is another honey in.the same year and school as our daughter. We used 2 live near a town called warwick!! 2 all the jokers, suprised 2 read so many, and on here but hey ho. :-) i dont mind as we've not met any1 like that. Hope u all get the naming help u want should u need it. Thanku 4 all the sendible suggestions, shall look thru them all properly wen on my computer :-)

Has got to be

Ambrose

CharlieBoo · 04/07/2011 19:37

The Devon I know has a brother called Louis. The Honey I know has a brother called Charlie and sister called Miley.

Ignore the other comments on this thread...braindead morons getting a kick out of mocking a pregnant lady and her kids.... Get a life!

mistressploppy · 04/07/2011 19:32

Warwick

PipFEH · 04/07/2011 19:29

Jago sprung to mind when I read the title!

Sirzy · 04/07/2011 18:28

All hail - bit ott don't you think? People will often make jokes related to people's names. If they are more unusual that is more likely that will happen.

And on message boards you have to take the good comments with the bad!

yousankmybattleship · 04/07/2011 18:26

Wafer?

allhailtheaubergine · 04/07/2011 18:24

Cor - some of you are being cunts.

Why would you mock the names of someone's children?

I was about to start my own thread about baby names but I'm totally scared off now.
