I'm on the lookout for some classy girls names that aren't too popular.

So far i've compiled;

Cecilia
Cordelia
Mabel
Elizabeth
Harriet
Henrietta
Georgia
Juliet
Maria

I was just wondering what people thought of them and if you have any ideas, please share. Thanks!

Arf :o

People who think they know the rules of what class is and isn't aren't pleasant people.

musicalsinger913 · 12/07/2011 11:37

Class is something you have, or you don't. You can't "try" and be classy. People who want classy names aren't classy people.

10isenough · 12/07/2011 11:35

I have a Matilda and a Henrietta who are 6 and 2, I think both names are classy cool - we are not posh btw!

Fifis25StottieCakes · 30/06/2011 15:16

What about Thomasine/ Thomasina. Seriously under used name with the old name revival. You could call her Ena as a nickname.

Oh I think Mabel is lovely.

I've never met a real life Mabel. To me it's a character from an E. Nesbit book. :)

I'm surprised it's not more popular.

A1980 · 29/06/2011 00:20

"Mabel is lovely"

My elderly neighbour in her eighties is mortified that her middle name is Mabel. She hates it.

I do not understand the come back. Mabel is awful.

A1980 · 29/06/2011 00:17

Alexandra but then I'm biased.

Seriously though it's at school, there was only one other in my school at primary and in secondary.

At university I didn't come across another in any of my classes.

At work I didn't come across any others in any of my jobs.

It's very classy and not at all popular.

Hedwig3 · 28/06/2011 11:08

I would remove Georgia from your list TBH - its fine but I don't think it fits with your criteria. All others mentioned are lovely.
