I like all those!

Probably in this order

Nina
Gabriella
Adela
Helena (pronunciation ambiguities with this one- I know 2 He-LAY-nas, 1 He-LEN-a & 1 Helen-AH!)

QuimFabray · 26/06/2011 19:49

My favourite is Adela, but how would you pronounce it?

Ad-EL-a or AD-el-a?

I prefer the former.

mrsfollowill · 25/06/2011 23:34

Helena- without a doubt- love it!

manicinsomniac · 25/06/2011 23:31

Gabriella
Adela
Helena
Nina

That's my order of preference. Love Gabriella but don't really like any of the others at all.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 25/06/2011 14:00

LOVE Adela and Helena pronounced hel-ay-na.

jellybeans · 25/06/2011 11:25

Gabriella is by far the nicest.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/06/2011 02:39

Definitely. I would use it in a heartbeat but it's my boss's name and, lovely though she is I'm not up for that level of crawling! :o

mathanxiety · 25/06/2011 01:29

I think Hell-ena definitely has the WOW factor. It is such a graceful name, yet strong, like Clara -- but definitely able to stand on its own beside Clara.

MelinaM · 25/06/2011 00:18

Helena, it's lovely, as is the nn NellSmile

evalen · 24/06/2011 22:44

thanks for the comments :)
Clara's name has proven to be a real head turner and i would hate the other one not to be as popular. Do you think Helena (Hell-ena) has the 'wow' factor?

Helena, no matter what way you pronounce it. Adela comes in second, but not a close second.

I wouldn't choose the other two.

elseIlltellyourfather · 24/06/2011 20:51

Adele, on my shortlist! Adela has a different feel to it and loses the lovely-ness IMO

GwendolineMaryLacey · 24/06/2011 20:18

Helena by a mile, pronounced Hell-ena. Hel-ay-na is awful and a waste of a beautiful name.

Lonnie · 24/06/2011 20:16

Adela is beautiful I do not however care for Adele.

How do you want to say Helena? I like it if it is not Hell ena

Dont mind Nina but find it very humdrum

Gabriella is to popular for me

CaptainBizarro · 24/06/2011 19:57

Helena - no contest.

boxofbugs · 24/06/2011 19:11

Nina. It is a lovely name. It also goes well with Clara.

Hope88 · 24/06/2011 19:06

Helena

belgo · 24/06/2011 16:17

Grin at 'Nine'

PurpleStrawberry · 24/06/2011 16:03

Helena for me.

Nina is the Spanish word for girl, so as a Spanish speaker, I see a girl named Nina as a girl called Girl!!!!

pilates · 24/06/2011 15:52

Helena, don't like the rest.

pinkhebe · 24/06/2011 15:51

Actually I like Clara and Helen.

evalen · 24/06/2011 14:56

Which one for Clara's sister?

pjani · 24/06/2011 14:42

I like Nina the best too - it's simple but lovely. And makes me think of Nina Simone (which is a good thing).

Like some others I think some names can seem fussy with the 'a' rather than 'e'. Not that I'm suggesting 'Nine'!

Hedwig3 · 24/06/2011 14:27

Nina

BeautifulBlondePineapple · 24/06/2011 14:21

I like Nina the best. It's cute for a baby, but also suitable for a grown up. Lovely.

I would've thought about using it myself, but my sister has bagsied it (damn her!).
