Edie, Edith... too popular?

I will be having a little girl and quite like the name 'Edie'. Is it too popular? She'll be my first, and I don't know anyone with kids in the area to run it past... What does the wisdom of Mumsnet of say?

It's my late grandmother's name so I'm a bit biased.
She was often called Edie which I love and think is nice as a name on its own if you like it.

My daughter is Edie. She's almost 4. I've never met another.

I don't think it'll get too popular. It's not as 'pretty' as Evie, Lily, Ruby etc.

Last time I checked I think it was outside the top 300. Don't know about Edith.

I love Edie. I know 2. One is 3 and it's short for Edith, the other is 1 and just Edie.
I also love Ivy, Olive and Mabel.

Lovely. Not freakish, but she won't be one of millions at school. Might go and see if there are any other old lady names I can pinch too. Thanks!

I don't know a single live one.
DH's dad, both his grandparents were George + Edie.

Must be just starting to get popular I think.

I know of one Edith who must be 17 or so now and I remember doing a double take when I met her as a little 10 year old, it was such a bizarre name to be on a child then. But apparently plenty of babies and toddlers called it now.

It's hardly Grace or Lilly yet though, use it if you like it!

I know two Ediths and an Edie. Which I suppose makes it quite popular round these parts (north London) but if you like it, go for it.
