Connor.

Loved it 14 years ago & still do now.

Stangirl · 20/06/2011 22:36

Winter (girl) - still love it, even though I've now met one other.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 20/06/2011 20:33

Orla. Still love it.

MrsRhettButler · 20/06/2011 14:37

Anaiah and yes I still like it 5 years on but I'm not sure I would use it again due to peoples pronunciation, it's supposed to be AN-eye-ah but everybody, even her dad says UH-naiah or ERR-naiah so I feel like her name begins with urgh Angry

Oh and people also assume it's 'made up' but it's Hebrew and I found it in the bible!

Esme which I still like. However, I have wavered over the years and often thought I would have preferred our first choice of Helen.

10 years ago though it was considered fairly unusual and I was a bit disappointed when I realised that. I grew up knowing a couple so thought it was quite a well known name. The reaction we got tended to be 'have you made it up?' type comments when she was born. I was therefore pleased when it became more popular and we now know quite a few Esmes. DD also likes the fact that there are others around too - she didn't like it when people thought it was 'unusual'.

So when I had my boys I made sure I gave them more normal names!

TruthSweet · 19/06/2011 09:38

Lilith Louise - we loved then and we love it now. Her nickname is Liliput.

Brandon. And yes, I still love it. Couldn't care less if it's considered a 'chav' name or 'common'.

OyOfMidWorld · 18/06/2011 00:08

Noah. I love it but am a bit concerned as it seems to have become so popular recently. DS is only 15 mo and before he was born I didn't know of another. I now know of 3 others Sad I really would like him to be the only one in his class at primary school.

NorksAreMessy · 17/06/2011 22:28

Minxy
Not her real name, but that Is what we have always called her

thisisyesterday · 17/06/2011 22:21

Linus

cos i am a Schulz nut. and yes, i still LOVE it

MogTheForgetfulCat · 17/06/2011 22:13

Cameron Howard - Cameron after much deliberation and indecisiveness. Wanted something that sounded good for both child and adult, and sounded 'strong' with a Scottish feel but not too 'obvious' (e.g. Hamish, Gregor). Howard is DH's family tradition, and is his own middle name. Still like it v much, although get gyp from my Glaswegian step-ma for shortening it to Cam Grin.

lou33 · 17/06/2011 21:23

Lily, and yes i still like it. She is 19 now ...

emmanumber3 · 17/06/2011 21:21

Jack Michael. Jack after my grandfather & Michael after my dad. Yes, 14 years on, I still love it. Despite Jack having been the most popular boys name for almost all of those years he is still the only one in his year group at secondary school! Grin.

msbuggywinkle · 17/06/2011 16:55

Helena. I still adore it, she chooses to be called Len, which probably suits her more than Helena tbh!

Tinslesocks · 17/06/2011 14:44

Ewan ... he's nearly 15 now and I still love it

westonsorganic · 16/06/2011 21:06

Edward Henry Sascha but we call him Teddy!

iskra · 15/06/2011 15:45

Nina. I love it. We call her Boo a lot of the time though.

HypeAversion · 15/06/2011 12:02

Leila. I heard Eric Clapton's unplugged version of Layla on the radio when i was pregnant, i thought it was a lovely sounding name, not too off the wall, but, a little different. 11 years on, i don't know any other Leila's, it suits my daughter and i still love it. I am not crazy about the spelling of it, as people pronounce it Lee-ah, Lie-la and lee-la.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 15/06/2011 10:52

Ruby. Me and DH struggled with a name for her. I wanted to call her Lydia, but he said it was too posh and too thin Confused. I also quite fancied Zam Zam which would have been fine in Oman, less good in Warrington.
I was adamant that we would not have a family or religious name. Luckily enough, upstairs downstairs was on telly continuously and the poor scullery maid tugged at my heart strings and hence, Ruby was chosen.

PictureThis · 15/06/2011 10:42

Imogen. She gets called Mim or Mimi owing to the fact that she couldn't say Imogen at first, it came out as Mimogen. We love it and it suits her perfectly.

Eggstra · 15/06/2011 10:37

Dylan, 13 years on and I still love it.
My Gran went mad when I called it him and said I had given him a cowboy name Shock!

lovinme · 15/06/2011 10:30

Mya which I still love I just wish that I spelt it Maya instead. When I was pregnant she was going to be called Troy but when she was born she looked like a Mya and NN is Milo

charlottery · 15/06/2011 10:20

Alice started out as Alice Elin, then I added in Patricia after my mum, as she died when Alice was 3 months old. I absolutely love it, and it means an awful lot to me. Trouble is I'm now expecting another girl, and can't find anything I love as much

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 15/06/2011 00:12

Romilly

I wanted her to be Romilly Poppet but decreed this was pregnancy hormones. Funnily enough she gets called Romilly Poppet more that she gets called her actual middle names.

I still love it - though she's a bit miffed she can't get a water bottle for school with her name on.
