Bruno is a wonderful name.

crystalglasses · 15/06/2011 16:52

Bruno - a deeply tanned man with a bristly chin and a growley voice, a bit like a bear. Imagine that lying in a cot. Well you did ask.

zozzle · 15/06/2011 16:47

Not keen.

nickstermum · 13/06/2011 21:21

Urm.....Confused Sadly not.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 11/06/2011 18:27

Like it lots. The lad from Fame here too :)

eurochick · 11/06/2011 17:52

I dated an Italian called Bruno many years ago. I always thought it was a dog's name.

amberleaf · 10/06/2011 23:24

A dogs name..particularly a boxer dog!

Emma3003 · 09/06/2011 22:22

It doesnt matter what I think - do you like it ? If so, and you have your reasons, go for it! Its your opinion that counts. There will alwats be someone who likes it and someone who doesnt. X

thumbwitch · 08/06/2011 22:04

are you posting it here, kalo? Or starting a new thread?

PalazzoPants · 08/06/2011 21:15

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Just no. Did I say no?

kalo12 · 08/06/2011 21:15

thanks everyone for the feedback. It seems pretty split 50 /50 which is good. We are europeanish, have lots of french in laws and both lived in france for many years so we want a name that works in both englsih and french.

my concern is that it is one of those names that although not very popular now might be the type of name that becomes chav.

I like this name but my friends mainly say its a dogs name, even though I have gorgeous BIL called this.

Anyway, I'm about to post my dh's top name which everyone seems to love more but I'm not sure.

I too had a Bruno Bear. Named after yer man from Fame Grin.

I like it OP. Very sweet for a small boy but could not cutesy enough to be creepy on a man.

razzlebathbone · 08/06/2011 19:43

I love it. It's wasted on dogs.

diddl · 08/06/2011 15:03

Fantastic.

jojodancer · 08/06/2011 14:14

I love it! But I had a teddy bear called Bruno when I was young...

somewherewest · 08/06/2011 14:12

I'm afraid I'm picturing Sacha Baron Cohen's camp Austrian, Frank Bruno and an Alsation with a spiked collar in that order. Really sorry!

JHandC · 08/06/2011 14:05

poppydaisy, I have a Jack, a Harry and a Charlie! I thought I was being sooo original at the time. I still love the names, there's a reason why they are popular. I'm off to cry...

Charlie has a friend called Bruno. He's a bit of a bully TBH.

hellokitty123 · 08/06/2011 13:54

Bruno is lovely - a classic underused name. What is there not to like Hmm?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 08/06/2011 13:05

lolol @ Bruno Brookes Grin

Astrid is a lovely name (perhaps not in the OP's case, assuming she's trying to name a boy child). It makes me think of Porridge. Or starlets of the 1970s. All in a good way however.

nokissymum · 08/06/2011 12:38

The name Bruno always remind me of a big brute, sorry Sad
