Yack! NO!!

mathanxiety · 08/06/2011 20:25

DD1 (21) has a friend Eileen, but she was the only one in school.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 08/06/2011 16:37

How about Ellen Jane instead? Wink

radancer · 08/06/2011 16:25

nope

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 08/06/2011 16:21

I love it. But the C'mon Eileen thing is strong, sadly.

smartyparts · 08/06/2011 16:13

Also think it's a name from my mother's generation along with Maureen/Angela/Irene type names.

PatriciatheStripper · 08/06/2011 16:08

It's a name from my mother's generation which I never used to like, but I find like it better now, especially spelled Aileen.

MynameisTerces · 08/06/2011 14:16

I lean ?

Babymithel · 08/06/2011 12:48

nooooooooooooo

Ephiny · 08/06/2011 11:59

Don't like it, sorry, I'm not keen on any of the names ending in the 'een' sound actually (Irene, Kathleen etc), just sounds a bit whiny or something to me. Seems very old-fashioned to me as well, not something I'd think of for a little girl now.

Ellen is nice though.

Moffit · 08/06/2011 11:56

Don't do it, its my mums name and she really doesn't like it, people never spell it right either, or mis-hear it as Irene?!

PorkChopSter · 08/06/2011 11:49

You'll end up saying "Oh come on, Eileen" at some point and collapsing in giggles along with anyone over 35 within earshot. Every one else will be all Hmm

sparkle12mar08 · 08/06/2011 11:40

Awful.

Renaissance227 · 08/06/2011 11:18

I prefer Aileen or Elaine.

PilgrimSoul · 08/06/2011 00:40

Not keen, what about Eibhlin (Evelyn) another alternative to the Irish Ellen/Helen?

pilates · 07/06/2011 17:44

Is it a family name?

If so, perhaps have as a middle name?

ElizabethDarcy · 07/06/2011 16:57

My gran's name was Eileen. To me it is a tad old fashioned.

SloganLogan · 07/06/2011 16:55

Yay

CandyS · 07/06/2011 16:25

I knew an Elieen at school (I'm 23, to give you some perspective), she had a constant stream of people offering to come on her.

Would Alieen be too serial killer/alien-ish?

tummytickler · 07/06/2011 16:25

I really love Eileen.

exoticfruits · 07/06/2011 16:07

Nay

Slainte · 07/06/2011 15:48

I love it, really strong name.

Pinkjenny · 07/06/2011 15:47

No. Even Aileen is better
