I love the name River. I see as a name for a girl. What do you think? What nicknames?

I wouldn't associate it with Dr Who because I've never watched it! I immediately think River Phoenix!

I know a River she gets calle Ree for short. Lovely name.

I know I should choose something traditional but I cant get this name out of my head. I have been through so many names but can't settle on any of them. Please tell why I should not use this name. Do you know any River? Would it be really unusual and cause bullying at school? I can't decide...
