STILL not decided on a name, any thoughts for the above please? (DH insists it is 1 or 2 syllables).

I'd pronounce Jolie like Marie but with Jo rather than Ma, iyswim.

prayingmantisgroupie · 02/06/2011 23:07

Yes!! My late MIL, (who sadly never got to meet her only grandchild), was called Joan, and, while we wanted to remember her, we felt it was a bit old fashioned, so it sprung from coming up with one syllable names beginning with J or Jo.
We understand it's not to everyone's taste though - most people think it's some sort of homage to Jools Holland!! Grin

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 02/06/2011 22:54

Actually Jools?

prayingmantisgroupie · 02/06/2011 22:36

I have an Eloise Jools Smile.

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 02/06/2011 22:31

Marie is a possibility, thanks. How would you pronounce Jolie? With a French accent or an English one?

Eloise Mia
Eloise Anne
Eloise Catherine
Eloise Jolie
Eloise Breanne
Eloise Freya
Eloise Fern
Eloise Faith
Eloise Amy

any good?

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 02/06/2011 22:09

I did think about that, but want it kept special so DTD2 feels special and remembers DTD1 (if that makes sense?)

OP posts:
smokinaces · 02/06/2011 19:57

If both your DTDs have Rose as a middle name, can this DD not have Rose too? Make it into a "family" middle name?

Other ideas

Eloise Anne
Eloise Faye
Eloise Claire
Eloise Lucy

Eloise Kate - go on, try that one on him again Wink

Domesticbodess · 02/06/2011 00:21

Yes to Daisy, it's lovely, as is Jasmine. And Violet!

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 01/06/2011 22:37

Oooh, Georgia was on both our lists...

no1childminder · 01/06/2011 21:17

Eloise May
Eloise Georgia (although i feel Georgia Eloise sounds better)
Eloise Fay
Eloise Faith
Eloise Kay

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 01/06/2011 21:08

Eloise Joy is v lovely indeed.

Don't like Eloise Lily - it all gets tangled up together in the middle, like chewing on toffee imho.

Have thought of another two syllable one - Eloise Claudette.

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 01/06/2011 08:42

Oh, not sure about Jade for a boy...

Joy is nice and short, nice meaning, difficult to spell wrong. Not so good in French, but that's not too important.

I have a good friend called Faun, I've never met another (her brother is Jade, oddly enough).

I do like Joy.

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 01/06/2011 08:40

It is a consideration. Is Lily not fairly overused though it's a beautiful name.

Haven't asked him yet, but I forsee a problem with the prominence of 'l's (Surname has 2). Hmm

HarriedWithChildren · 01/06/2011 08:36

Goodness but I love Eloise. Only DSs here though.
Didn't read whole but Eloise Lily sounds great, a little alliterative, great in French (was that a consideration or should I have really read more closely?)

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 01/06/2011 08:30

He now says no to Hazel (not as a name per se, but as a middle name for Eloise!)

Like Joy, it's my mum's middle name but DH not sure.

Quite like Ruth. DH not so keen.

We discussed Jade last night. Both think it's a lovely name, but concerned it might be a little... chavvy?

Fawn is an interesting name, hadn't considered that. I'll see what his royal highness thinks.

Thank you! :)

If you have a Florence Rose you clearly like the flower names. I think Eloise Hazel is lovely - Eloise is soft sounding, so it's nice to have a 'cleaner' sound for the second name. You both like it, it fits the syllable rule, and it's not overused as a second like Grace/May/etc.

Eloise Hazel.

RottenTiming · 01/06/2011 01:36

You can have "my" girls name which I loved but didn't get to use, only boys in this house I'm afraid.

Eloise Ruth

One syllable, and goes nicely with the 4 letter "R" middle name of your dd

Italiangreyhound · 01/06/2011 01:21

Eloise Jade

Eloise Marie

Flowers:

Eloise Violet
Eloise Marigold

Sylvaniasandwich · 31/05/2011 23:49
