What do we think? I love it for dc2 but think it may expolde in popularity due to middleton.

sorry, meant Phillipa of course. But am still missing what should make it become popular...

hulabula · 26/05/2011 14:41

I dislike it. Philip for a boy is nice but I don't like Philip for a girl, sorry.

Why would it become popular Confused?

Pictish · 26/05/2011 14:40

No I don't like it, and no it is not going to be hugely popular.

excellentadventure · 26/05/2011 14:39

I agree it's awful, a clunky-sounding attempt to feminise a man's name.

coccyx · 26/05/2011 14:31

Awful name

AngryFeet · 26/05/2011 14:29

I have never met a Philippa I liked.

excellentadventure · 26/05/2011 14:27

Why would anyone want to name a child after that smug orange woman?

slowshow · 26/05/2011 14:24

Isn't it normally spelled with either one L and two P's, or two L's and one P?

In fact, that's the main problem with that name - spelling it Grin

I think Philippa is the conventional spelling anyway, with a few people opting for Phillipa. Not sure I've ever seen it spelled Phillippa.

minipie · 26/05/2011 14:13

I like Pippa but not Phillippa (generally not keen on girls' names that look like feminised versions of boys' names)

And yup, I do think it's going to be popular.

VivaLeBeaver · 26/05/2011 14:11

I like it but think its going to become very popular.
