We have really struggled to find a girl's name we both like, boy's name no problem though! I am now 38 weeks and time is running out.

What do you think of Claudia and what middle names go with it? I think Roase goes well, but is quite popular as a middle name. Any thoughts?

Anteater · 17/06/2011 02:12

Claud is not attactive

It bit like a posh clare..

topazmcgonagall · 17/06/2011 02:07

Congratulations! Claudia Joy is lovely

KittyBigglesworth · 14/06/2011 16:43

Many congratulations!

BertieBasset · 14/06/2011 13:25

Just to let you know we now have a dd2 called Claudia Joy!! Thanks for all your suggestions. We have had lots of positive comments - although it would be a brave person not to tell me my baby is gorgeous with a gorgeous name at 2 days old Grin

I like the German pronounciation, I think!

The meaning seems to be 'lame' but I also found this meaning ... 'Persevering'

I do like it.

SilkStalkings · 30/05/2011 21:19

Or more Latin? Claudia Justina? Claudia Verena?

WinkyWinkola · 30/05/2011 20:52

I love this name. Dh doesn't.

Claudia Belle?
Claudia Anne?

gettingtogrips · 30/05/2011 20:49

I like it, DH doesn't. How about Claudia Harriet.

Abcinthia · 29/05/2011 12:58

I love the name Claudia. I really wanted to name DD Claudia but DP really disliked the name.

SilkStalkings · 29/05/2011 11:52

I'm quite liking an sound after Claudia for some reason eg.
Claudia Caroline
Claudia Marilyn/Marianne/Miranda
Claudia Hannah
Claudia Tanith/Thandi
Claudia Xanthe

But then Claudia Lorelei has just popped into my head too.

BertieBasset · 27/05/2011 23:43

I like what you've done there Grin

IslaValargeone · 27/05/2011 15:39

Love Claudia, how about Claudia Beryl Wink

shoobidoo · 27/05/2011 15:37

I prefer the German pronunciation - Cloud-ee-a. I don't like the Claw sound at the beginning otherwise.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/05/2011 14:55

Love the name Claudia and only know one.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 27/05/2011 14:47

Not unless he's fat, fair and in his forties, oh yes, and a girl!

BertieBasset · 27/05/2011 12:21

ellenjane are you my DH? That is his favourite joke :)

OP posts:
EllenJaneisnotmyname · 26/05/2011 20:29

Yes, but don't call me Shirley!

BertieBasset · 26/05/2011 20:19

Yes Claw-dia - I am not cosmopolitan enough for Cloud-ia I'm afraid

OP posts:
EllenJaneisnotmyname · 26/05/2011 20:15

Surely 'claw dia', 'cloud dia' is the German pronunciation.

talkingnonsense · 26/05/2011 19:56

Are you pronouncing it claw-dia or cloudier?

SilkStalkings · 26/05/2011 19:52

Claudia Willow is lovely.
Claudia Lillith
Claudia Kate

Teds77 · 26/05/2011 17:01

Lovely name, Rose, Louise and Joy all lovely too.

Claudia Jean (West Wing..)
Claudia Anne
Claudia Iris

BertieBasset · 26/05/2011 10:38

Thank you for all the ideas. I know the meaning is lame, but another name I liked was Cassandra so not great implications there either! And not just because of Delboy Smile

We already have Jane as a middle name for dd1, but I think it does go well with Claudia. I didn't think that many names went with it tbh, but clearly they do I just havde no imagination. Particularly like Louise and Joy, but will run the thread past DH later and see if we can come to a decision. Which will be no mean feat I can assure you.

Thanks again!

I love the name but we bought our house off a Claudia with the same surname as and I'm sick of seeing her name on the letters we still get! And I know a Claudia and she's a miserable so and so.
