That's it really.

First dd, English/Scottish, living SE england

Any opinions on either of these?

Is one more popular than the other? What do they make you think?

Both popular, Daisy actually higher up the stats than Isla although people on here always seem to go on about Isla being really popular (fwiw I have a dd with name similar to Isla and have met more Islas than Daisys though). I love Isla but sadly I would probably avoid it now as it is just too popular. It annoys me when people say it is trendy/ faddy though as it has always been a welll known name in Scotland, only in England it has suddenly exploded.

Daisy is a bit cutesy imo, though nice enough

Isla for me.

I know heaps of Daisy's.

However both names are v pretty.

5DollarShake · 22/05/2011 03:37

I do not 'get' Daisy at all. No idea why it's so popular. But then again, my tastes don't run to cutesy, y/ie ending names.

Isla is lovely but also very popular. Would definitely chose it over Daisy, especially if there is a Scottish connection. :)

Daisy.

I'm old and would have loved a DD. She would have been called Daisy.

MelinaM · 21/05/2011 23:15

Isla is uber popular at the moment, and Daisy is rising fast too, if that doesn;t bother you go for it! Of the two I much prefer Isla, Daisy is a bit too cutsie for an adultSmile

Emelene · 21/05/2011 23:13

I love Isla! :) I like it much better for when she's grown up too. I think it's beautiful.

Scarletbanner · 21/05/2011 23:12

There are 2 Islas in ds's pre-school class this year. And I know 2 Daisys (or should that be Daisies?). Love both names though.

reddaisy · 21/05/2011 23:03

I love Isla.

GoodDaysBadDays · 21/05/2011 23:02

Congratulations olc Smile Lovely choice of name!

hmmm, super fashionable? That could be the decision-making comment!

Daisy.
Isla is a bit super fashionable at the moment.

onelittleclara · 21/05/2011 22:59

I've got a week old Daisy curled up on my chest right now. It's a beautiful name. But then I am biased.....

GoodDaysBadDays · 21/05/2011 22:58

Ah bomb, middle names probably May Louise.....

OP posts:
bomberosa · 21/05/2011 22:58

Like them both

How about

Daisy Isla

or

Isla Daisy

GoodDaysBadDays · 21/05/2011 22:57

Grin FF They are both lovely imo, but I think they sort of conjure up different images iyswim.

Jut wondering what others think and what people perceive to be the more popular name

FunnyFaces · 21/05/2011 22:54

I know one of each, both 2yrs and under. Prefer Isla I think, but like both.
Sorry, that probably doesn't help, does it?!

muminthecity · 21/05/2011 22:54

Daisy is much better than Isla imo. Beautiful name.
