It's on my shortlist for any future dd, but with Katherine on bc.

AnathemaDevice · 20/05/2011 17:37

Great name-though I am biased, as I have a 12 week old Kitty. She's Kathleen on her birth certificate.

birdofthenorth · 20/05/2011 16:54

Lovely lovely lovely name. Know one aged 2. I'd be tempted to put Katherine on the BC (in case she marries a Mr McVitty?!) (or not because Kate Middleton will spark a wave of Catherines?!) but either way Kitty is a gorgeous name (which I would use if my friend hadn't!).

Love it, but then my DD is a Kitty (short for Katherine). Think it does need a full name, mind

RottenRow · 20/05/2011 16:16

It's getting far too popular around here. Unless that doesn't bother you.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/05/2011 16:15

Only if you want to be inundated forever with Hello Kitty stuff. It's a nice name though.

spidookly · 20/05/2011 16:13

It's nice, but I prefer it as a short form for Katherine than a name on its own.

My Mum's godmother is Kitty, so I think of it more as old-lady chic than a cat's name.

shelley72 · 20/05/2011 16:09

personally, i LOVE but be prepared for lots of comments / looks when you announce the name. if YOU like it and it seems to suit then sod everyone else Wink

LetThereBeRock · 20/05/2011 14:53

It's dreadful. It makes me think of a burlesque dancer.

gleechie · 20/05/2011 14:27

I adore this, sadly dp doesn't :(
Great name though. One of my firm favourites

freesias · 20/05/2011 13:55

I don't like it, sorry.

pirateparty · 20/05/2011 11:15

Kitty Florence (not short at all!)
Kitty Rose
Kitty Elise
Kitty Mae?

emmanumber3 · 20/05/2011 11:13

I love Kitty. In fact I used to have a much-loved cat called Kitty Blush. That wouldn't put me off using the name for a baby though, although DH would never go for it.

Middle name wise I like the sound of Kitty Rose personally, although Rose does get a lot of stick on MN for being "too popular" Grin.

CherryDrops · 20/05/2011 11:04

Seems to be popular on here at the moment but I'm really not a fan.

pirateparty · 20/05/2011 10:58

Oh let me think... If you're going to use it without it being a nn for Katherine etc then I think something short. What other things do you like?

tummytickler · 20/05/2011 10:52

Not keen. Maybe as a nn for Katherine, but I definately do not like it on its own.

MaresyTotes · 20/05/2011 10:46

Lovely

FollowMe · 20/05/2011 10:46

I think it's a bit odd but only because I know a kitty-boo which seems quite chavvy plus when I was a kid we had someone called 'shitty kitty' on our street!
Like katherine though

notgoingback · 20/05/2011 10:44

I love it too. DH not keen tho' - the whole cat connection thing. I think it is very pretty.
