Everyone would think it was "Blaze" and therefore that you were weird.

CarefulWithThatAxeEugene · 19/05/2011 14:59

So what about Modesty, I wonder if anyone would be tempted to use that one. It's not as extreme as Chastity Grin

legallyblond · 19/05/2011 14:01

I know 3!!! 2 boys and a girl.

Its pronounced "Blaze" and is a fairly common french boys name. I know 2 guys my age (29ish) with the name (only one is french) and a girl, also my age (her parents knew it was a french boy's name but liked it!).

All 3 are nice, normal and pretty classic public school types!

Blaise St John Kitchen is hilarious!

I like it. I know of a kid called Blaise.

Merlion · 19/05/2011 13:47

I used to work with one and would say no due to that (he was a little odd to say the least).

DH also worked with one but his full name was Blaise St John Kitchen (the St John was pronounced as one word so essentially ended up sounding something like 'singeing') Grin.

KittyBigglesworth · 19/05/2011 13:00

For many commuting Londoners in their thirties and above who read the Evening Standard, the name Blaise will forever be linked to Modesty Blaze the cartoon femme-fatale. I suppose it isn't that different from Scarlett in evoling visions of red.
Wouldn't do it myself but if you like it...

kreecherlivesupstairs · 19/05/2011 12:39

Horses name. Hideous. Even for a horse.

BlueChampagne · 19/05/2011 12:36

I was at school with one in the 70s.

LetThereBeRock · 19/05/2011 10:29

It's awful.

wheniwishuponastar · 19/05/2011 10:21

Its a saints name, the patron saint of throats as far as I know and its pronounced blaze

DialsMavis · 18/05/2011 23:31

I like the spelling but not the pronunciation IYSWIM

Popbiscuit · 18/05/2011 23:27

No. Just No.

NerfHerder · 18/05/2011 23:24

I like it, but DH vetoed it 'because Blaise Pascal was completely f*ing mad' Hmm

SandStorm · 18/05/2011 22:54

I just think 'blaze of glory'
