I think it's a name that will become popular, like Harper and Hayden (and surnamey names in general for both boys and girls.)

Brooks Brothers make shirts. Brooks dry cleaners clean clothes. It's a surname.

Sorry, that is an awful name. Quite apart from the whole Holden McGroin fiasco, it is also a make of car, as I think someone else has also pointed out. What will it get shortened to?!

I sure thinking back through the mists of time that it was actually on my list of names for ds when he was born. I also quite liked Brooks which I always thought was along the same lines even though it's totally different Confused

I quite like it. Uncommon but not weird. I do think of Catcher in the Rye too. A good adult name; some names are too cutesy and only suit children.

Well, if you called a child that, at least you could be sure he'd never emigrate to Australia - it is a brand of car there: their version of Vauxhall.

He's a bit of an angsty character though (catcher) so not sure I'd want my ds to overly identify with him. I just like the name.

I love that name!

It makes me think of Catcher In The Rye.
