Middle name for Ruby B please?

Hi all,

Currently 34 weeks & we're quite set on Ruby if it's a girl, but we're really stuck for a middle name & would be very grateful if anyone could offer any advice! P.s. I know Ruby is one of the most common names at the moment but I don't know any Ruby's, it seems to be a rare one where we live!

Baby will have its Dad's surname (begins with B) and to give you all some inspiration, DP's family is of Welsh heritage & mine Italian (distantly!)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone! There's lots of lovely ones on here that we're considering!

We also have a new (rather weird L trend) of names we like including:
Lola
Lara
Layla
Lydia

Grin Opinions?

Emelene, I love Ruby Isabel, I wanted to call DC (if it is a girl) Isabella but DP veto'd it! :( Although R.I would make her a R.I.B, which is the same as FIL! Grin

My dd is 13 and has the intials RC. First time I have heard the arsey comment and nobody in all her 13 years has ever said anything to her either. My mother being my mother was more concerned about it standing for Roman Catholic Hmm, but that's my mother.

Jaquelinehyde · 22/05/2011 12:07

I love Ruby Elizabeth or Ruby Eliza.

Emelene · 22/05/2011 11:58

Ruby Annabel
Ruby Eliza
Ruby Eleanor
Ruby Jessica
Ruby Imogen
Ruby Isabel
Ruby Grace
Ruby Katherine (gets over the RC thing if you like the name! ;))

I hope you find one you love!

seeksnewnamewithgsoh · 20/05/2011 20:53

Sorry, meant Charlotte Church, and her daughter Ruby. I can say it better that I can type it. Blush It's not even a big deal, but I seem to have made it into one. It was just the first thing I thought of.

WiiUnfit · 19/05/2011 23:09

emma, it does sound nice but I wouldn't want to leave my Mum out IYSWIM? :(

seeks ^"the same names as CC and her daughter"? What's CC?
Grin @ DFS, I have been googling various potential initials just to avoid any acronym related mistakes!

I just think having the same names as CC and her daughter is a bit too weird, but please don't let me put you off.

We wanted Francesca for DD but it would have made her initials DFS, which seemed a bit mean Grin

mich54321 · 18/05/2011 01:32

Ruby Elizabeth
Ruby Alexandra
Ruby Ellen
Ruby Esme
Ruby Erin
Ruby Megan

emmanumber3 · 17/05/2011 22:28

How about Ruby Rebecca? It's a lovely name and would earn you some brownie points with the MIL too Grin.

portaloo · 17/05/2011 22:21

What about a grandmother's name as 2nd name?

MelinaM · 17/05/2011 22:17

Eleris is a welsh river? The emphasis is on the second 'e' try and write phonetically- 'elairee'?
That make sense?
I know a girl whose mother is welsh with the name- its beautiful isn't it.
My daughter is mary- they rhyme- mary and eleri.

WiiUnfit · 17/05/2011 20:14

Is that her LO's middle name seeks?

How would you pronounce Eleri? Blush

I quite like Francesca & Johanna :)

OP posts:
skatpot · 17/05/2011 19:47

Ruby Johanna.

seeksnewnamewithgsoh · 16/05/2011 22:48

You can't have Ruby Charlotte - people would think you were stalking Charlotte Church! And arsey, obviously.

Ruby Elizabeth and Ruby Eleri are fabulous.

Ruby Francesca?

WiiUnfit · 16/05/2011 21:33

Grin I can't ever give my child a R first name & a C middle name, no matter how amusing DP finds it!

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/05/2011 21:26

Well I was actually going to say Catherine, then I remembered Arsey Woods and it may me snort!

WiiUnfit · 16/05/2011 21:24

I'm glad you mentioned that Rather! Grin

DP likes Charlotte, but the Arsey comment is putting me off now! He also likes Savannah but said "isn't that a desert?" Hmm

I can't decide if most welsh names sound too harsh IYSWIM? Confused

OP posts:
kangers · 16/05/2011 21:08

Ruby Eleri
Ruby tatiana
Ruby Willow
Ruby Eleanor
Ruby Atlanta
Ruby Siyanda

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/05/2011 20:41

No no no - my friend's initials were RC when we were at school and she was called Arsey the whole time

tummytickler · 16/05/2011 20:40

Ruby Gwendolen
Ruby Gwen
Ruby Anwen
Ruby Dilys
Ruby Cerys
Ruby Bronwyn
Ruby Elen

Any of those any good? I think they all so und great with Ruby, and especially like Ruby Gwendolen/Gwendolyn

WiiUnfit · 16/05/2011 20:39

Grin I'm sorry!

I've just been scouring a baby names website which has suggested the following:
"Mazie Mari B"
"Ellie-Mai Lilly-Mae B" Hmm
"Fern Princess B"

[bangs head against wall]

OP posts:
kangers · 16/05/2011 20:30

Glad you like one at least!

WiiUnfit · 16/05/2011 20:26

kangers I love Savannah, another one to test on DP!

Caitlin - my cousin is also pregnant & has chosen this name for her DD
Elizabeth - I like it
Victoria - that's my name Grin
Alexandra - again, LO would be a "RAB"
Rebecca - MIL's name Grin
Miriam - I'm not sure if it's a bit too old-fashioned sounding to go with Ruby?
Savannah - I love it!
Giovanna - LO would have the exact same initials as MIL haha!

Sorry for being fussy! Grin

I think Ruby Alexandra and Ruby Elizabeth sound very nice
