Louis, Digby or Rufus?

Louis (DH is half French), Digby (too crazy?) or Rufus (too on-trend?)

All very different I know, but which do you like best?

toughdecisions - that would be Lord Digby Jones. If it's good enough for a lord it's good enough for me Grin

Louis would be pronounced as it should be so I don't really want this to turn into a pronunciation debate.

I think I've been put of Digby!

I agree with other posters above - Digby is a dog's name. I quite like Louis -did consider it for our DS at one point, and would consider it again if we have another baby. I'm undecided re Rufus. I do like it, but I wonder if it's a bit too 'cool' IYSWIM.

I actually a know a Louis called Lou-is, like the city St Louis in the US.

hellojude · 16/05/2011 21:38

Need I say more!!! Rufas Sewell...{swoons}

RitaMorgan · 16/05/2011 21:36

My cousin is called Louis and I don't think anyone has ever called him Lewis.

TOWIL · 16/05/2011 21:35

I don't know anyone that would pronounce Louis as Lewis and I am English. I don't think it's an issue in this day and age.

A lot of English and German (and Spanish?) people will pronounce Louis as Lou-is, unlike the French way where you don't pronounce the s.

smokeybacon · 16/05/2011 21:04

Rufus.

I have one. Inspired by Rufus Wainwright.

TOWIL · 16/05/2011 21:01

I hate Lewis. Definitely would be Louis.

I am warming to Rufus!

LOVE Digby - wanted it for DS but got endless comments about 'biggest dog in world', although I retorted by mentioning Digby Jones. Great names

mopsyflopsy · 16/05/2011 18:03

I love Rufus. Not keen on Louis/Lewis.

WiiUnfit · 16/05/2011 17:34

I'm sorry - I'm with the majority, Digby & Rufus sound like dog names to me.

I like Louis though! :)

joydivisionovengloves · 16/05/2011 17:31

Louis definitely. Just in case your son grows up to be a footballer. This will avoid him hearing 20,000 people singing "Rufus/Digby is a dogs name".

diddl · 16/05/2011 11:41

Digby or Rufus.

tammytoby · 16/05/2011 11:38

I love Digby - very cool imo. Rufus is nice too.

I'm not keen on Louis, especially pronounced Lou-is.

TOWIL · 16/05/2011 11:36

I think Digby is a no-go as I've not had the best responses fro friends either!

I think it will be between Rufus & Louis.

Love Digby.
Most well known one is that business man who was chair of CBI.
