Monroe (girl) and Moroccan Scott (boy)

Monroe's not bad, but poor boy having two nationalities for a name! Hmm

Zuma is the name of a Japanese restaurant in London. Haven't researched what the word means in Japanese. Presumably it was a venue Stefani and Rossdale were familiar with. Heston Blumenthal has said (in interviews) that he is indeed named after the Heston service station on the M25!!

nulgirl · 08/05/2011 12:36

Saw an article where apparently her husband has said that they already call them by the nicknames "roc and roe". Poor children.

jellybeans · 08/05/2011 12:31

They're fecking awful. Poor kids.

A1980 · 08/05/2011 01:51

Maybe it'll start a new trend. How about neighbouring countries.

Algerian
Tunisian
Libyan

All great names along with Moroccan Grin

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2011 22:44

pawsnclaws - absolutely.

storminateacup10 · 07/05/2011 22:15

thesecondcoming- ZUMA??!! FFS!!! I could swear that is a make of fruit - oranges or something, usually written on the side of the crates?
Moroccan? Well, at least it ain't Afghan- grateful for small mercies and all that...

triskaidekaphile · 07/05/2011 21:21

Agree with vintageteacups and others that having an adjective for a name is especially shit. Morocco would have been slightly better.

pawsnclaws · 07/05/2011 18:07

I'm just surprised they weren't called Mariah and Nick.

Glittertwins · 07/05/2011 18:02

I liked the twitter post who said that they were impressed with that fact they had the word 'moron' in each name. Poor children, what's wrong with Scott and Marilyn if she idolised MM that much...

chillistars · 07/05/2011 16:01

I suppose it could have been worse, she could have called him Brazilian.....

BornAgainDomesticGoddess · 07/05/2011 15:55

Better than Jayden and Ellie-May, I guess.

Northernlurker · 07/05/2011 14:23

I don't mind Harlow. Monroe would have been quite nice for a boy but it's not great for a girl. Moroccan is obviously a barking mad choice.

slowangels1 · 07/05/2011 14:20

I mean MCs and NCs

slowangels1 · 07/05/2011 14:20

ah hah, have just found out moroccan is named such as it's apparently (according to NC) MCs and MCs named mixed together and they are calling him ROCK for short Grin

ScatterChasse · 07/05/2011 14:16

After her bedroom Confused?

slowangels1 · 07/05/2011 14:14

yeah emmie moroccan is named after the top floor of ther appartment is called the moroccan room and it's where her DH proposed to her (closet mariah fan Blush . Maybe it's secretly that they were conceived in the moroccan room and she's naming them a la brooklyn beckham Hmm

slowangels1 · 07/05/2011 14:12

Thing that made me a bit Hmm was that in a mariah interview a few months ago she said they had picked out names ready and they were 'normal' names as apparently mariah hated having an unusual name when she was growing up and didn't want her children to feel this so picked safe, boring type names for her DC so they blended in more. I'm not sure what world she lives in where monroe and moroccan are normal run of the mill names... Confused

pawsnclaws · 07/05/2011 13:37

I said on the other thread I thought Monroe Cannon sounds like an item of WW2 artillery.

"The Allies sustained heavy losses despite the deployment of the Monroe Cannon in the later stages of battle."

I didn't know about Bronx Mowgli. I actually think that's worse.

robincousins · 07/05/2011 13:08

monroe cannon sounds like the definitive guide to scottish mountains

LightsOnComeOnIn · 07/05/2011 12:50

Newgolddream - Mowgli is the little boy from Jungle Boy isn't it??

Gremlins were Mogwai (sp)

Maybeitsbecause · 07/05/2011 09:55

Meaninful. Unique.

It all means the same thing - pretentious.

AngelsOnHigh · 07/05/2011 05:38

Everyone has their own reasons for names. DN has a daughter Jasmin because the mum is Joann without an "E" and grandmother is Ann without an
"E". Hence Jasmin without an "E"

It's all very meaningful to the people involved and really, that's all that matters.

nothingnatural · 07/05/2011 00:00

Love them. I adore celebrity childrens names.

Why bore us public with dreary Jack, Oliver, Katy, Sarah etc

Why not got all out fully mental and entertain with Sparrow and Cruz et al. Brilliant and so thoughtful to us civillians.

leftblank · 06/05/2011 22:27

I think what makes it worse for me is that Marilyn is such an obvious choice - it's like she has no imagination. See also Liam Gallagher's son Lennon.

emmiebrookes · 06/05/2011 22:13

nope its not good .why oh why .would you do that .i heard she named the boy afer his bedroom deco weird or what .
