Expecting girl/boys twins (much wanted IVF babies). They will probably be our only children (I'm old).

Which do you like? I can't decide whether to go for 'cute' or 'sophisticated' (but worry they sound a bit stuffy).

Personally, I think Daisy is cute for a child but as an older child/adult it sounds a bit silly.

pilates · 24/10/2011 08:52

Cogratulations and on your choice of names, they are lovely.

spottyock · 24/10/2011 08:48

Oh, sorry- just seen its old! Congratulations- hope everything is going well with Elizabeth and William!

spottyock · 24/10/2011 08:46

I have a Daisy. If I have another girl Eliza is in the top 3 names. Both lovely names. I think I prefer William to Charlie.

LAbaby · 24/10/2011 00:07

I'm an Elizabeth with a brother called William, great combination!

mybootsaremuddy · 23/10/2011 17:30

Congratulations! What lovely, lovely names.

Twins realy are fab and exciting (and knackeringGrin), mine are 4mth now (dc 5&6) and also boy/girl (Quentin and Christina).

Congratulations! Sorry didn't realize this thread was old - ha ha! You made the right choice - hope all going well. X

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 23/10/2011 17:26

Congratulations :o Hope it all went well

Montsti · 23/10/2011 17:24

I like all of them - lovely choices, however as many above have said would go with Elizabeth and William with Eliza and Will as their shortened forms...

mummingbird · 23/10/2011 16:13

Just an update to say I now have my Elizabeth and William! :)

washngo · 06/05/2011 13:09

Elizabeth and William for sure. Love the bessie and billy suggestion. I know a gorgeous little betsy too - betsy and billy would be adorable! And they'd have lovely classic names with great grown up nn if they wanted (will and beth for example). Congrats how exciting!

randomimposter · 06/05/2011 10:00

Aww, am so Envy at twins - how fabulous.

I have a William (Billy) and Eliza (my GM name) would be on my list for a future DD.

I think Elizabeth is massively adaptable re NNs, love Bess, Betsy, Lizzy, even Beth.

I really like Charlie but personally have the need for a long birth cert name, and don't like Charles (go figure). Daisy is sweet, but again IMO lacks gravitas as an adult, would prefer Margot nn Daisy.

(ah, have just read the thread - am repeating the theme!!)

Good luck with your pregnancy and enjoy it all x

belbos · 06/05/2011 00:19

I really dislike both Daisy and Charlie I'm afraid. They will date along with names like Alfie and Maisie.

Eliza and William are very nice!

emmanumber3 · 05/05/2011 23:24

I'd go for Daisy & William I think Smile. Not at all common!

Many congratulations on your pregnancy by the way - I hope you enjoy every moment of motherhood Grin.

WiiUnfit · 05/05/2011 23:02

Another vote for Eliza(beth)/William here! Lovely, classic names.

I find I have trouble respecting any adult called Daisy, it's just strange. Confused

mummingbird · 05/05/2011 21:34

I have a 1yr old Elizabeth (yet to be shortened) and if my 2nd (due sept) is a boy he'll be William, good solid choices :)

FessaEst · 04/05/2011 21:02

Elizabeth & William - classic, timeless, loads of lovely shortenings/nicknames.

Daisy & Charlie are much more "now" and together sounds very sweet, but slightly follow the current trend for naming babies/small children more than their adult selves iyswim.

They are all nice names though!

pilates · 04/05/2011 19:59

Eliza and William are my favourites

nickelbabe · 04/05/2011 16:32

I'd go for full name rather than Charlie.

I like Elizabeth and Charles.

both names have nickname capabilities, but sound proper grown-up in their fullness, which is good for them as adults.

Emelene · 04/05/2011 16:31

Elizabeth and William! :) (Beth and Billy are cute nicknames!)
I also love the combination of Edward and Elizabeth ... Teddy and Beth are just so cute.

Congratulations!

CharlieBoo · 04/05/2011 14:08

My two are called Charlie and Daisy and we are anything but common thank very much! Like both options too.. Good luck how exciting!

Indith · 04/05/2011 12:05

Oooh I have a Margaret who is 99% of the time called Daisy and a William so I think they go very well together. All the names are lovely, ELizabeth definitely on my list for a future child and the only reason Charles isn't is because it is dh's dad's name.

Hedwig3 · 04/05/2011 11:59

Margaret and Charles - fantastic - Daisy and Chaz Smile

One of my children has an 8 year old Margaret in their class.

MercurySoccer · 04/05/2011 11:29

I'd go for Daisy and William!
