Girls:

Berengaria. I have always loved that name.
Andromeda
Cassopeia
Oenone
Artemisia
Elektra
(actually I love most classical greek names)
Hepzibah
Bathsheba
Calpurnia (I love the euphony of the name, not the meaning)

Inigo (actually, if I have a boy I will call him that, surname is Jones so will be marvellous
Percival
Lysander
Magnus

Wow at someone called Ankaret - I read an obscure baby name book which said it was seldom used since the 15th century.

PelvicFloorsOfSteel · 02/05/2011 21:30

DS1's first and middle name have been mentioned more than once on this thread - I still love them and they really suit him! Grin

A name I love the sound of but could never use because of the connotations is Judas, DP vetoed Jude and Jonas which was as close as I'd dare to go. Such a shame, one little betrayal of Christ and the name is tarnished forever...

ChateauRouge · 02/05/2011 21:10

Blimey Getorf- I actually know an Ankaret- I assumed it was spelled 'Anchorette' Blush

Bumper- I love Aurelia and Ondine too... I take it MrBumper said 'no'?
Wouldn't Twm be pronounced 'tomb' though? Kind of puts me off...

Sarcophagaiea anyone? Grin

mopsyflopsy · 02/05/2011 21:01

I'm loving most names on here - much nicer than on most threads imo Smile.

Maternelle · 02/05/2011 20:51

My DS's second name is Wolf in breton. I wish I had been brave enough to use it as his first name.

rumpleteaser · 02/05/2011 20:21

Yes I think it is thrush or something, that's what put me off wanting to change my own name to Candida when I was a teenager!

IslaValargeone · 02/05/2011 19:34

Isn't Candida a vaginal infection?
I love lots of the others. I have one of them.

noddyholder · 02/05/2011 19:25

My ds has 2 mates called Stone and Hooper

jeanjeannie · 02/05/2011 19:17

Inigo & Forrest are firm faves...if DD2 had been a boy then I think DH would have got his way with Forrest!

Also adore Perdita, Constance and Lettice.

GatOwfMarLaaaandInnitBabe · 02/05/2011 19:10

Elvis is a brilliant name.

God I want some more children to name in grandiose manner but really can't be arsed Grin

noddyholder · 02/05/2011 19:08

Cheerful I only found that out years later but I like it !

LaWeaselIsOupaLaDouffe · 02/05/2011 19:07

This thread is giving me such name regret over DD...

CheerfulYank · 02/05/2011 19:04

You couldn't name him Elvis, so you named him after Elvis's twin?! :)

noddyholder · 02/05/2011 18:56

I should have stuck to my guns Bonsoir! Oddly Elvis goes well with our surname but he is 17 now and very much a Jesse!

eyeofhorus · 02/05/2011 18:55

goldfish, not godfish......
