We already have a William (6), Cecelia (3) and an Isobel (18 months)...dh not too sure as he used to live on an Adelaide avenue!

have rolled it around on my tongue a bit and no, I don't really like it that much. Cecilia and Isobel I like more tbh

ZZZenAgain · 02/05/2011 12:11

I'm not sure

MamaLazarou · 02/05/2011 12:10

Adelaide is beautiful.

Jezabelle · 01/05/2011 22:23

Beautiful name. Do it!! Don't like Adele at all.

prolificwillybreeder · 01/05/2011 18:11

I like it

Collision · 01/05/2011 11:31

I immediately thought of

'The strange affair of Adeleide Harris.' A TV series from 1979. I loved it and have always loved the name.

here

JiltedJohnsJulie · 01/05/2011 11:28

Absolutely love it. Now if I could only talk DH into DD2

tryingtoleave · 01/05/2011 10:22

I love it. I'm Australian too, but would consider it even so. And I do know a little Australian Adelaide.

WhiteBumOfTheMountain · 01/05/2011 03:00

I like it but my DH is from there and he refused to consider it! I thought it would be a nice reference! Ver pretty. Adele is not to be compared!

savoycabbage · 01/05/2011 02:54

I like it and it does go well with your other names. Like Adelaide Adams from Calamity Jane. Adele is not as nice.

I think that Adelaide is a great name for a hen Grin Not so keen for a baby

MelinaM · 30/04/2011 23:57

Hmm, not keen at all I'm afraid!

Chocolocolate · 30/04/2011 23:02

It's OK, but I prefer Adeline.

MayBankHoliday · 30/04/2011 22:22

Adelina is nice. Adelaide sounds a bit like a fizzy drink.

aliveandkickingme · 30/04/2011 18:40

I love Adelaide and think it would work v well with your children's names

PheasantPlucker · 30/04/2011 15:27

I love the name Adelaide.
I truly hate the name Adele though!

pinguwings · 30/04/2011 15:25

Beautiful, classy name. Works well with your other children too.

TreacleChops · 30/04/2011 12:49

Adelaide was my "French Name" in school..... i always liked being a "Adeaide" for the hour every French lesson lol x

EauRouge · 30/04/2011 09:21

My DD2 is called Adelaide so obviously I think it's a wonderful name, for a child or a hen Grin

BuntyPenfold · 30/04/2011 00:29

I have just chosen that name for a hen, sorry :)

Maud2011 · 29/04/2011 21:04

Much as I love Adelaide from the Sally Lockhart books I don't think it's a very pretty name. "laide" is French for "ugly" and I can never quite forget that when I see the name Adelaide, or that it begins with something that sounds like "addled".

ComeAlongPond · 29/04/2011 18:35

I think it's a lovely name, as are your other DC's.

kiwidreamer · 29/04/2011 18:27

theagedparent · 29/04/2011 15:56

I think it is lovely
