Always thought that DD2 would be a Darcey but as due date gets nearer I keep thinking its a bit chavvy. We have a Scarlett, so would like another strong girls name. Its really difficult as I am a teacher and lots of names I associate with pupils I have taught! DH likes Siennna but with our surname which is "Olorenshaw" it doesnt quite flow. Any comments welcome :)

Zara is lovely, definitely the best of your choices. I really like it. Goes nicely with Scarlett too

DarciesmumandBump2 · 29/04/2011 18:48

My DD is named Darcie Grin

Like Zara tho

Prinpo · 29/04/2011 18:46

How about Delphine (nn Delphie) instead of Darcie/Darcey?

oftenpurple · 29/04/2011 15:39

My favourite is Zara but agree with a PP that said that the initial sound was similar to your DD. I'd go for Freya. Darcey and its variants are everywhere these days.

BigSooz · 29/04/2011 15:39

Zara is lovely.

Dislike Freya.

Darcy (no 'e') is quiet sweet and one of the few those 'surname as first name' type names I quite like.

MayBankHoliday · 29/04/2011 15:37

Zarina is a nice quirky variation of Zara too.

Alphabetsy · 28/04/2011 22:36

Zara by a long shot!

shmoz · 28/04/2011 22:29

Sienna - seriously??????
Can't say I'm a fan of Darcey or Freya.

Zara is a lovely name; what about Zofia, Shelby, Mabel, Mia, Carenza

cece · 28/04/2011 22:16
  1. Zara, very nice - also like Sara
  2. Freya - OK but not a 'strong' sounding name
  3. Darcey - awful
weimy · 28/04/2011 22:11

I have a Darcy and a Freya, both beautiful check out my pic Grin

Boogiemumma · 28/04/2011 21:28

Zara would be my favourite, Freya and Darcy are ok, though wouldn't choose Darcy myself it would probably be quite trendy when she's older.

TeddyMcardle · 28/04/2011 16:15

Zara of the lot I think. Like Darcey though.

Pinkjenny · 28/04/2011 16:13

Darcey and Zara were on my list for ds. Until I found out he was a boy, obviously Grin

I still prefer Darcey, but only because I now know a rather dull Zara.

mathanxiety · 28/04/2011 16:12

Does nobody else hear the 'arse' in the middle of Darcey?

My choice would be Zara, then Freya.

pilates · 28/04/2011 08:22

Zara. I think Sienna sounds ok with your surname BTW.

MelinaM · 27/04/2011 23:24

ZaraSmile

puffling · 27/04/2011 23:21

Zara is good.
Darcey a bit scallivated.
Freya - way too common now

startail · 27/04/2011 23:19

Zara my fav. always liked it since princess Zara was born (even if my Friend's horse, named after the then baby royal, did toss me in a nettle patch)
I always think of Mr Darcey too, pity because the Darcey DD2 knew was a lovely girl.
I like Freya, but I would check what kind of mums use it in your area.

baskingseals · 27/04/2011 23:05

ooh it's got to be Zara

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/04/2011 23:02

Please not Freeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Bleurgh.

meditrina · 27/04/2011 23:01

I like Zara best, but am not sure it sits well with Scarlett (as the first syllables are too alike). I don't see Darcey as chavvy (the two I know certainly aren't). I'm not so keen in Freya, sorry.

chocolatelover1234 · 27/04/2011 22:55

I like Freya best it sounds girly and pretty. Zara is second fave it's a strong name and shefliesthrutheair is right it is a kickass name. Not so keen on Darcey tbh.

lyradaemon · 27/04/2011 22:54

I absolutely love Darcey, but prefer the spelling Darcy. Beautiful name!

fairieswearboots · 27/04/2011 22:48

I like Zara best :)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/04/2011 21:44

There are quite a few Darcey and Freyas on the nursery pegs here if that would bother you.
I like Zara best followed by Freya.
