Names you'd have loved, but couldn't use!

Just curious, are there baby names you'd have loved to use, but couldn't? For whatever reason!

My examples: my first child is a boy, and I loved the names Dylan, James, Tyler, or Max. We ended up not using any of them for various reasons. Dylan, my dh just hated. James, is my dh's best mate and my dh didn't want him getting a big head [confussed], Tyler, my dh said was 'chavvy', and Max didn't work with dh's surname (Chipps)- dh thought the boy would souns like a washed up superhero!

My ds ended up named Edward after dh's grandfather, which took some getting used to for me but I love it now :)

my second child (dd) is a girl. I loved Freya, Willow, Ruby, Isabella, Sophie, Leah, Imogen and Paige. Dh hated most of them, and said that Willow just made him think of the dwarf from the film! :o And of course, Freya Chipps...? just doesn't sound good!

Loved Benedict. DH said it was too popey.

Still have not used Alice.

Also like Abigail which DH vetoed. Seren was too odd, apparently.

James was too British.

Patrick is the name of a friend.

I never got chance to use Bruno as DC2 was a girl.

XP banned me from using Heston, Ferris or Fabrizio. I still think he was a boring old fart Wink.

ET... oh bless! :o I also loved Aurora but my dh said you are not naming our daughter after a princess cos she'll turn into a spoilt brat Hmm strange bloke he is...

Love the name Grace though! Dh says it's an 'old-lady' name, I disagree :)

Lucy, Charlotte, Amy, Grace.

Edward

Didn't have any girls so the first ones are out
our surname begins with T and DH banned ET as initials.

RitaMorgan · 27/04/2011 20:53

Martha - love it, unfortunately it would be ridiculous with my surname (along the lines of Edward Woodward).

I am still waiting for my Orla and my Struan...
